Hearn says that people shouldn't criticise the Bivol-Beterbiev undercard because it's strong. Then he says that fighters often have the attitude of 'give me an easy fight next and then and I'll take a hard one' but that it doesn't work that way anymore. Except that is literally how it is working for Eubank and Stevenson on that card, Hearn put them vs huge underdogs rather than in competitive fights that fans would get excited for.jin-songtsen Corelone like this.

If Crawford were to retire, I don't know what to make of his resume. I know he's undisputed a couple of times and I know he passes the eye ball test and many view him as an all time great (not me) but to only have one marquee name, Spence, on your resume, even with the demolition job he did on him is just not enough. He missed a lot of great fights at 147 'cos supposedly nobody wanted to fight him but 154 guys are itching to get at him. There are a lot of great fights at 154 to help his resume but whether he wants those tough fights is a different story. Even Madrimov that was suppose to be a soft touch ended up being a difficult fight.

A real comedy of errors happening here. The greedy corporate mega machine has priced fights out so casual fans do not even know fighters like Crawford. So it becomes Canelo's responsibility to rectify that problem. Meanwhile promoters are useless. The Saudi moneyed princes could pay fighters directly for the fights they want to see...
Why do these people wonder regarding this turn of events? Who is gonna pay to see Haney, or Crawford? I mean they know Garcia... Canelo has appeal. Not saying it is right, but if anyone thinks it through, it is fairly obvious that these guys have to throw a few bones to the fans if they want to fight for a lot of money.

Hearn must have read my posts about Crawford not fighting again. Yeah, I'm the only one saying that when everyone else assumed TBud is going after Fundora, Tszyu and Ortiz. Nah. He'll lie low this time and hide himself from the media. He won't be active on social media either because he doesn't like getting peppered with questions asking him about whether he fights this or that fighter. What is he going to say? He'll use Canelo's name, of course, to shut them up.shwaap likes this.

Crawford does not look like a retired fighter. Yesterday, I saw a clip of him sparring Shakur in preparation for Shakur's next fight. Retired fighters do not spar world champions in the gym. They book trips around the world with wife and kids. You see photos of them on the beach, on the boat, smiling and out of shape - not sweating in the gym.
I cannot believe how many people are hating on Crawford and rubbishing his resume. I agree he is not the most exciting personality ever and does not know how to promote his fights or sell out arenas but inside of the ring he is operating at a master level. Many people consider him boring but he is probably two fights away from achieving what nobody has ever achieved in the history of this sport and we have posters here saying that he missed a lot of great fights or that he wasted his talent. Unbelievable!! What are the fights that he has missed - and please do not mention Boots Ennis or Vergil Ortiz as they do not belong in this conversation ( about great, accomplished fighters).Rigpig likes this.
