We all know Doheny didn’t deserve to be ranked at #2.

This was a cash grab. Again I have no issue with it.
Doheny isn't promoted by Top Rank. Never was. And when have the alphabet rankings, of particularly the IBF, made sense? I'm just correcting your factual errors. Any blame lies at the feet of Goodman for pulling out.

Inoue has a resume that imo is excellent. His past 3-4 years especially. He took a cash grab. Not a problem. He deserved it imo.

He looks to be giving us Goodman, Leo at FW, then Nakatani. How can anyone complain?
TJ Doheny was ranked 12 in the world going in and 14* coming out of that fight; out of 1,365 active Super Bantamweights.
Thats top 0.879%, and that's what 井上尚弥 uses for a stay-sharp fight......and casual fans, rather than educating themselves on the topic, complain that "Doheny didn't deserve the fight".

      Typical stuff.

I am not a casual fan. While your analytics are correct, your use of them to defend this fight is disingenuous because I was speaking in terms of competitiveness, not rankings.

You and I both know Doheny had no chance to win this fight. You and I also both know diehard, knowledgeable fans wanted him to fight MJ because he was available and would provide much better competition.

You also have watched TR utilize the same formula repeatedly- give a no hoper a string of easy wins and then feed him to the name guy.

I made clear I have no issue with Inoue taking this fight. I also made clear he should not be criticized in any way.

Perhaps next time, have some level of integrity and be genuine about where the 37 yr old Doheny was from a competitive position rather than use analytics.

What you did here was the equivalent of scoring a fight based on compubox numbers. That is what casual fans do.

I thought he was co promoted by TR.

You can’t blame another man’s actions on someone else. Come on.

I have no issue with Inoue here as I stated multiple times.

Doheny had absolutely no chance to win as you know. I don’t see why anyone has an issue with me stating this is why he didn’t deserve the fight.

Let inoue fight who he wants. Only worry if you don't think he will ever take a challenge again.

Can every fighter do that and not be called on it ?????

Well, Inoue doesnt get special praise and bonus points when he does things others havent, so he might as well fight bums for now if he is allowed to and hasnt got a mandatory. Being pfp no1 shouldnt be on Inoues agenda, as people might expect him to do something silly to achieve being no1 pfp. If people think Usyk or Bud are ahead of Inoue then so be it. Just set goals and try achieve them one day. Im sure inoue will like to be 126 champ oneday, one step at a time. Have to be philosophical as everyone got their own opinions.
