  • Comments Thread For: Chris Algieri's School of Thought: Naoya Inoue deserves credit, not criticism, for win over TJ Doheny

TJ Doheny, Naoya Inoue's most recent opponent, is gigantic at super bantamweight. He looked so much bigger than the undisputed champion - and that's something that should be taken into consideration whenever Inoue fights at that weight

Doheny is an excellent fight. Credit is due.

Apparently Doheny rehydrated to 147, which is pretty crazy. Inoue has got to be close to his limit with how much smaller he looks compared to his opponents at this weight class.

Doheny didn’t deserve that fight. He was there for the check and quit. Can’t blame his cowardice on Inoue.

Inoue has a resume that imo is excellent. His past 3-4 years especially. He took a cash grab. Not a problem. He deserved it imo.

He looks to be giving us Goodman, Leo at FW, then Nakatani. How can anyone complain?

It was supposed to be a mandatory defense vs Goodman, who decided to turn it down and take an extra fight in which he got injured. Doheny was backup, which he "earned" by being the next highest ranked fighter after Goodman by that alphabet organization and by having a win streak in Japan vs Japanese boxers. Inoue didn't "take a cash grab". He did a voluntary defense against the next highest ranked contender after his mandatory ducked him because he wants to stay active. As you say, I don't see how anyone can fault him for that. If anyone is responsible for Doheny getting the fight, it is that idiot Goodman.

the fight is BORING. the outcome is already known even before it started. Inuoe should fight like the legendary Manny Pacquiao if he wants to be the greatest. Pacquiao fights anytime, anywhere, anyone and do not cheery pick his opponents.

Pacquiao is retired , and has been for years. There's a section in the forum for sucking off Pacquiao , go there and do it.

Except Arum had this planned all along. He fed Dohemy a string of buns and used his connection to get him ranked 2, knowing Goodman had another plan.

We all know Doheny didn’t deserve to be ranked at #2.

This was a cash grab. Again I have no issue with it.

Let inoue fights so called bum if he wants, he'd still be no2 pf p behind usyk anyway no matter who he fought, so inoue is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt.
Let inoue fight who he wants. Only worry if you don't think he will ever take a challenge again.
