Comments Thread For: Team Norman on Jaron Ennis fight: We asked for what's fair

A two-week ordeal for Jolene Mizzone, manager of WBO welterweight titleholder Brian Norman Jr., is nearing its conclusion. The tense period of public negotiations with IBF champion Jaron "Boots" Ennis appears to have ended with P2M Box Promotions, the promoter of Karen Chukhadzhian, winning the purse bid for Ennis' mandatory title defense against their fighter Chukhadzhian. The bout, a rematch of their January 2023 fight that Ennis won by unanimous decision, will be set for later this year.

Fair is always a matter of opinion. They are saying look at what's happened to Boots - he has to fight in Germany. What they are not saying is - look at Norman, he has to fight for $200K instead of $1.75M that he was offered. That is almost 10 times the purse. Fair request?

My Gawd this is much worse than I initially thought. Boots signing with MR has to be the worse decision in boxing history! Hearn doesn't even have the money to invest in Boots. Dammit Boots you fuqed up mane!!!

LOL, Norman is in no position to be negotiating what is fair. If they think they can win the fight they would had taken the opportunity. Beating Boots would expose him to a bigger fan base and get a buzz going plus bigger paydays.

If they were only 500K apart in negotiations, both promoters need to share blame for not getting the fight done as it was really good matchup, and cross-promotional unifications are hard enough to make.

My guess is Matchroom came in low for the push bid for the Karen fight because they're planning on vacating the belt and will be looking to make a fight at 154 for Boots in November in Philadelphia.

And how did he F up? Team Norman was given more than a fair deal and they simply priced themselves out coz they know Norman is getting knocked out and they want to hold on to the belt longer.

I know you don't like Eddie Hearns or Dazn boxing and I know you are Team PBC and Team Al but you don't have to be too negative and say boots is in a terrible situation.

Let's see how team Norman's plans go and they should make sure they don't lose that belt to an underdog or worse still not even make much money as a champion.

Good point. Mizzone is acting like a 5 year old, always blaming somebody else. She just lost his fighter the biggest payday of his career by far and the biggest possible exposure he could get and she is blaming Eddie for failing to invest?
