How funny: We have one fighter who wants to stay true to his weight class, one fighter who has jumped around to fight in many weight classes, and one fighter in a proverbial "open" weight class, all vieying for the spot of Number 1!
to me Inoue is the p4p #1.... when you look at the rankings, you have to factor in how they beat their opponents..
Inoue's last decision was back in 2019.... since then, he has finished all his fights with a tko or ko... this is how you determine how dominant each fighter is and if you look at Inoue, Usyk, Canelo and TC, Inoue is the most dominant.
82% of Inoue's career has been title fights, half against champions or former champions. He's got a 91.3% stoppage rate in those title fights. You can put Usyk in front if you rated Fury really highly on the strength of that one win, because it's a bigger weight jump, but Inoue is #1 in my book, because he's active and has fought the best available competition his entire career across 5 divisions, and is two wins away from completely clearing out 2 consecutive divisions. Usyk and Crawford only arguably cleared out 1 at most.
