The law simply does not guarantee fairness Champion... it was never designed to! Take it from an Ethics teacher... If I am a District Attorney, and you are accused of a crime, if someone asks if I am sure you are guilty? Regardless of what I say believe me... I sleep at night (as DA) knowing that if 20 people are in the same circumstances as you, they are probably guilty, and if we send 19 people to prison and one is innocent, I am ultimately doing more good than harm... Now is that "fair" to the innocent person?

Your camp in this argument want people to look at Haney as an "innocent." Yes, Haney is law abiding, but hardly innocent, when it comes to using any advantages, whether fair, or not. Coming in trained better = fair, Rehydrating by gross measures is not fair and violates the concept of weight divisions... and yes it is legal.

You and I agree on most points here: I used to be a fan of Haney like yourself, and still acknowledge that he has talent and I wish him, the best, as you do. Where we disagree is whether the law solely determines a person's equitable treatment, fairness, and ethical compliance. As someone who taught legal ethics college level I don't buy that argument one bit...

Haney was wronged legally, but he is not a doe eyed, ethically uncompromised young kid... His father is a master manipulator, he takes advantage of the rehydration cause, and attempts to manipulate public perception instead of either running this fight back, like Cotto, for example, did with Margarito, or accepting the legal redress he is entitled to and moving on. If Haney wants legal compensation, by all means... But accept your cash reward and move on. Or, do not seek legal redress and demand that Ryan run the fight back... Did Cotto get paid for the beating he took from Margarito?

I will also tell you this, as someone who has bad injuries from being hit by a vehicle as a pedestrian and being given a paltry settlement for basically losing my business, and having to take 3 years to actually become uncrippled: I had to accept crap legally/financially, and a good deal of it went to others... But guess what? That is it. Nobody cares anymore... I took the money, I needed to, and I got the money, I cannot even see my doctors about the injuries anymore so I could take the paltry sum and take care of my family long enough to sort of get on my feet. That is how most legal settlements for a wrong are...

My point is, Haney, because Ryan is rich, can get paid very well, compared to someone normal... His legal settlement for comparative suffering and occupational losses would dwarf someone in normal society... So he should be happy to accept his fate, take his damages and rebuild his reputation without having to pretend Ryan did not expose flaws in his game. he should also maybe reflect, since he is now a man of God, on Karma... And learn, as he gets his man strength, how to sit down on his shots more and protect his chin with skills beyond just grabbing his opponent as a defensive measure. No sir... haney is no victim. A fighter like Cotto sowed the blueprint of how to deal with a situation like this: haney could even demand legal redress in the form of a return bout.
Can we stay on topic please? Your feeble attempts at deflecting blame is one of the biggest and clearest sign of a straw man argument there is.

How about us talking about Haney’s alleged over rehydrating and weight bullying in another thread? This dialogue was never about Haney but about Ryan Garcia.

Now, had Haney popped dirty for doping too. Then what you’re saying would have merit, complete relevancy and total legitimacy to this debate. However, it does not.

Whether Haney over rehydrates on fight night or not. Still doesn’t detract from Ryan Garcia’s unprofessionalism that night.

He came in weighing three pounds over the contractual weight limit by using banned and illegal substances in order to gain an unfair advantage in a prizefight.

Devin Haney’s weight bullying is not the issue here. It doesn’t make Ryan Garcia any more or less than the drug cheat that he really is.

        LOL, Personally, I don’t believe I ever was on a bus with you. In any case, the question you should be asking yourself is;

When is Ryan Garcia and his fans are going to stand up and take personal responsibility and accountability for his own actions.

You guys went from blaming everyone from VADA, Victor Conte, Bill Haney, to cross contaminated supplements and all the way to even blaming a personal nutritionist named Scooter. Whom Ryan alleges tainted his over the counter supplements.

To me it seems that it’s everyone’s fault for Garcia popping dirty for PEDS except for Ryan Garcia himself. C’mon billeau? You are bigger than this. You know I am right

You are one of the most respected posters on this forum. You know what Ryan did was both wrong and dirty. So why won’t you just admit it?

Ryan Garcia has. He even confessed and admitted it to the NYSAC that he was guilty and other Devin Haney haters have as well.

They all basically said they didn’t give a shit whether he cheated or not. Just so long as the black guy lost. I can respect that because boxing has become tribal.

They were just happy and satisfied that Devin lost and that the original verdict went against him. Or could it be that perhaps you feel the exact same way too?

It appears he wins fights not because of his skills, but because he's massive.
Never seen anyone being kept with watchful eyes for his weight.
Devin has skills, no question, he also doesn't handle getting hit very well and without a big, big weight advantage he'll need to punch, rush-in and hold like hell.
