This sport is washed in the blood of so many.
There's a scandal every other moment we look away from.
    Mayweather's IV scandal
Tatted-up Pacquiao's sudden fear of needles
    Monzon's whole violent dating history
    Liston's whole life and death
And don't go in a barbershop & say Desiree Washington.
They'll be ready to throw you out mid-cut.
Some praise the IBF's aggressive mandatory practices,
But forget they got that way due to bribery in the first.
    I love this sport,
but I know when I kiss it,
I'm getting blood in my mouth.

Are articles like this the result of Garry Jonas's (ProBox and BoxingScene owner) dissatisfaction with Saudi boxing involvement?
His problem is "people Saudis are working with".

I have been singing this song on this website for months. The Saudi Boxing King cannot continue to spend this type of money with minimal return, as I said, and as the article indicates, NOBODY has the money to continue at this pace. Tris nailed this one, including his poignant observation that when Haymon did the same thing, he was picketed, but this international, not even an American, is a savior. Institutional racism at it's core, a retroactive black eye on boxing no doubt about it.

Wasn't Eddie Hearn picked on as well for over spending on fighters. They all end up with the same result..Like Haymon and Hearn survive, that means Turki has chance as well. They just need to come to real market price.

As long as others over spend for us to watch the best possible fights, I'm cool with it. It's not our money.

They spoil the fighters. Very few of them get mega paydays, but a lot will think about getting that bag and cashing out instead of just fighting for less money.

It is less about racism and more about greed. If Haymon had showered the major promoters with money they would not have filed lawsuits and would have sung his praises instead.

Boxers and promoters will just take advantage of this saudi gravy train while it lasts. It'll become un sustainable at one point no matter how much oil money saudis make every 15min, nobody likes red numbers. Not even for the sake of 'country promotion' and 'sportwashing'. At some point the real backing behind Turki will have to cut the money flow into boxing.

                    Exactly!

Haymon instead acted as another promotional outfit who tried to corner the market, a la UFC-Dana White model, using Mayweather as the bargaining chip or template. Haymon, however, overestimated Mayweather's actual popularity when he put on Mayweather vs Berto and the event flat out bombed.
