What exactly is the reason why Tank won't fight Shakur?

It does look like Tank Davis is avoiding Shakur Stevenson. How else should we see it? He and his team are not responding to SS team's calls from what I've read weeks ago. What must be the reason this time? They blamed Floyd last time, who is no longer with Davis. Who is to blame this time?

Important question is if not Stevenson, who is he fighting next? I have a feeling he will sit it out for the rest of the year. It's already close to the last quarter of the year.

It does seem so. And the same people who were blaming Arum are not blaming Haymon this time.

He has been trying to drag Inoue up 3 weight classes rather than fight the best at 135. Shakur keeps pricing himself out of fights, which says he's either scared to right him or so delusional he really think's he's worth his asking price.
In this particular case there's only one guy who doesn't want it. Tank Davis. Shakur has been calling out Tank since time immemorial. Even Floyd wants to see the fight.

Wilder was exposed and it's only a matter of time b4 Wahid gets exposed too. His opps are carefully handpicked.

And Shakur isn't signed to any promoter

Tank ducked every top guy for years. Look at how many guys ranked top 10 in the division that the fight happened at he's got on his resume. He's got all the skills, but has had a very protected career full of cherry picks and A-side clauses. His coach just came out and said that the Loma fight didn't happen because Loma is used to being the A-side, although he wasn't A-side vs Haney or Kambosos in Australia... That suggests Tank was playing the usual A-side games he plays in EVERY fight.

Add to that long history the fact that Shakur is skilled and one of the most boring fighters to stink up the boxing ring in recent memory and the fans leave the arena before his fight is over, and that he's currently without a promoter (and with nobody in a rush to sign him), and that he's currently tied to a fight with Zepeda, and there's no point to Tank fighting him. If Zepeda wins, Tank gets a fight that will sell way better. If Shakur wins, maybe he'll be able to put the previous stinkers behind him and won't be as much of a minus to the promotion. If I were in Tank's shoes, I'd make it a condition that Shakur stays off social media. Every time he runs his mouth it hurts the value of the fight. He's one of those guys that can't get out of his own way.

I think Shakur's issues primarily come from the fact that he's so risk averse. He should have taken the 25% to face Haney for undisputed. If he'd been willing to take a B-side cut ONE time, he'd likely be undisputed right now and ALL the big fights would HAVE to come to him. And he's so risk averse that he doesn't step on the gas to get guys out when he's obviously many levels above them, and he doesn't get the knockouts because he's such a defensive fighter that, like Haney, he fights with his weight back and never really gets the weight transfer that he'd need to get that extra power that could create a stoppage. He just rotates around the core, but rarely really sits down on the punch. It's a shame, because if he had that mean streak in him that he has when he's punching women, or that dog in him to really get some sting in those punches, maybe he'd actually be close to as big a star as he thinks he is, because he does have skills.

So not one member of Davis' team has any comment on this.

Tank could fight anyone he wants, but I don't think he and his team can just ignore why he's not interested in Stevenson.
If it's about Shakur being boring and thus not a fight that they think would sell then say so. And they better announce his next opponent
so fans can get used to it early.

                  Good point.

Well, hope I've done my thing bringing attention to it.

Have Tank and his team even sent any offer yet to Stevenson? If not, why do we keep having this premature narratives that Shakur is pricing himself out? The cart can't be placed ahead of the horse. Tank should send an offer first, then we'll see what happens.

Because Shakur is an awful style match up for Tank and could likely beat him and make him look ordinary doing it, which would destroy Tanks reputation and value. Too much risk for low reward,
