Now, I am a published boxing author, a former professional athlete, and I impact kids to the tune of a 6 figure salary. Nothing is more insulting to me, than ANYONE using race as an excuse to be subpar, to not do your job, to be below the mark, OMG F **** him, I will never be a fan of this guy black white green or orange.

Sure it was a good fight but let's be honest. Bivol had that one food flurry in the late rounds that made everyone get out their seat. The rest of the fight he was potshotting..clinching and weak jabbing. Why don't we get all FIRE AND BRIMSTONE over Bivol doing it but Shakur catches heat?

He is not completely wrong. There is a segment of boxing fans who would love nothing more than to drive all American black fighters out of the sport of boxing.

Black American fighters are held to a much higher standard than other fighters in the sport and receive the most jealousy and hared because of it too. That is a fact.

These fighters are not all boring either. Many of them have crowd pleasing styles as well. Anytime someone hits a nerve there is always a ring of truth to it.

Shakur is a winner and he is undefeated too. Which is why he cannot understand all the hate. I thought boxing fans loved winners.

He is not wrong if I am being honest. The narrative and goal posts will always change. Guys like tank are exciting fighters, but when people can't fault him in boxing they fault his attitude and other struggles outside of life as if he is the only one with these problems and they are angels with perfect life. These guys will receive hate no matter what they do. Shakur should never try to please anyone and continue to do what he does...winning fights and making guys look like fools hitting air...

He wanted the Loma fight and didn't get it so if he wants to trash talk him it's understandable. But his comments read like he's in denial. He broke compubox records for how low-action his fight was, any elite fighter who performed like that would be criticised. Tank is the same race but a much bigger star because he knocks guys out.

Usyk has fought one elite opponent after another, unifying 2 divisions, travelling to different countries, taking the fight to his opponents with an entertaining style. Stevenson has stayed home, mostly fought lesser competition and had 2 of the most boring fights in recent memory. Very odd that Stevenson is making that comparison and acting as if he's been hard done by. If Usyk was African American he'd be a much bigger star. Reality is if Usyk fought a lower level opponent in the USA in his next fight, it's not selling out a large venue or doing good PPV numbers, despite how much he's achieved.

I don't dislike Stevenson for his comments, because a lot of great fighters have a chip on their shoulder or feel that the boxing world is against them even if it isn't. But he needs to find a way to get an elite opponent in the ring with him. If he can't, he needs to start putting on a show when his opponent is B level.
