Which “big scalp” did Madrimov have in his resume to earn a shot at Crawford? And how many tickets does he sell without Crawford?

    Be honest!
I am being honest. Prior to the Crawford fight, I only saw Madrimov fight once (the last one) and prior to that never heard of him. I do not believe Madrimov is a bigger name than Boots. The reason Crawford fought Madrimov was for the belt. He was available because both Tim Tszyu and Fundora got injured. And, yes you are right Crawford is not a big ppv star either. Uncle Bob was always complaining how he lost money on Crawford. Great fighter, but not a great entertainer.

I still stand by what I said - neither Haney nor Boots sell tickets (and if you wish you can include Bud Crawford in that mix) but they have a rich uncle Turki who is willing to pay them well for his personal entertainment.

Haney took a beating against a coward ass cheater Cryan Garcia may not have anything left mentally. He needs to stay away from boots. Ennis will get no real recognition until he goes to 154 where there's challenges worth watching

Maybe because he has not fought anyone of note yet and does not have a big scalp on his resume.
Who has Berlanga beaten? He's fighting Canelo! Some things just don't add up in boxing!

Seems like a horrendous matchup for Haney- but if he wants it I'd have to watch

Berlanga as lucky because he was a perfect opponent. Boxing is that way... And it sucks.

It would be one of those train wrecks. Not a fight Haney should entertain for sure.

What am I missing? Is Haney moving up to 147 already?

You are right. He hasn't beaten anyone and does not deserve a title shot, but it seems that Canelo is going down the list of possible opponents, crossing out a few names that he will never fight and then going onto the next level of mediocre opponents that he thinks he can sell to the public or should I say to his Mexican fan base. I cannot think of any other plausible explanation.

I thought Ennis is being avoided.

We are in agreement. Hopefully Hearn will make the fights that matter for Boots.
