People are acting like David Benavidez is some sort of Mike Tyson type fighter 'The reality is? His offense and agression is nowhere near the level of Mike Tyson'.

As I have stated in my previous posts, fighters like David Benavidez have existed in all boxing era's 'Especially in this modern era'.

Each boxing era always consist of those type of fighters, who are aggressive and ingratiate themselves with the raw competitive instincts of people in society or boxing community. There is a attraction, and fascination with competitive violence. And whatever fighters mold their game around maximum aggression and violence, they are always going to have a certain level of popularity and people will over exaggerate their abilities'.

Note: The issue David Benavidez has, is that? Just being aggressive, or relying upon being the big man on fight night 'Has historically not been enough, to become a genuine all-time great fighter. Or even a elite level fighter in all boxing era's'.

There was more than just aggression with Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Rocky Marciano, Nigel Benn, Roberto Duran, Henry Armstrong, Jack Dempsey, Joe Frazier 'Is there that more with David Benavidez? I have not witnessed or observed a high level of sophistication with his agression or offense to date'.

Benavidez is for sure a World level fighter, but his entire game heavily relies upon his agression 'And being the big man on fight night. Benavidez outside of those attributes, in my opinion? Would really find it difficult in many past boxing era's, to be a top level fighter. Especially in the era's, when boxing was using the same day weigh in rule'.

Skill for skill David Benavidez is not a Elite level fighter 'Where as we know, that Canelo Alvarez does have certain aspects of his game which are Elite level. Even still at this stage of his career, and definitively at his peak'.

I have always been adamant that David Benavidez vs a Canelo Alvarez in solid form 'Benavidez has the ability to make the fight competitive, but not enough ability in the specific area's to actually win rounds consistently vs Canelo Alvarez'.

To conclude: Anybody that knows boxing, and understands how styles can effect the competition. They will be aware right now, that the match up between David Benavidez vs Canelo Alvarez 'Is stylistically a fight straight up Canelo Alvarez street. A solid in condition Canelo Alvarez in my opinion, would just have too much ability to win rounds consistently while displaying a by far superior defense.

David Benavides is a solid enough fighter, the match up between Benavidez and Alvarez is mega fight 'But stylistically on the real, it is not the most formidable challenge for Canelo Alvarez when he is in solid form' etc.
I agree wholeheartedly. I think these are just different stages people who watch boxing go through. If you watch it long enough, you see that power DOES bring attention and a more visceral attraction, and it’ll draw the eyes of a bigger audience, which in turn a large portion will embellish and exaggerate.

When I was at the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight, I watched that fight in a bar full of all types of people. The sheer ignorance that I overheard made my stomach turn.

”Mike Tyson would beat both of them!”

“Why doesn’t Floyd just knock him out?!”

”No three knockdown rule?! These are weird ****ing rules, man!”

These types of fights that crossover into mainstream are always both amusing from a spectacle perspective and cringe-inducing because of what you hear newcomers spew.

      2) OK, then.
      3) I find it odd how an unproven fighter, let's use Benny as an example, can have a sub par resume but more respect
No one would give Nelo respect if he had Benny's resume.
Well "Benny' isn't boxing's cash cow & able to fight who he wants whenever he wants, so of course he wouldn't get respect.

That's why we're so critical of Tank Davis.

Fighters who can fight who they want SHOULD have big names on their resume.

Fighting someone is half the issue. WINNING is the main issue. Nelo was not guaranteed anything.
You still refuse to admit that if Nelo had Benny's resume, you would give him the same respect.

Theres plenty of room under that microscope of judgement.

If Benny was the "cash cow" of boxing, I'd judge him, just like I judged Floyd Mayweather or Anthony Joshua before him.

            Everyone keeps ducking my scenario
There would be no Nelo fans if he had Benny's resume !

We won''t have worry about anyone judging Benny since he will never be a cash anything.
