This to me confirms what I have thought the entire time. He is a bully in every sense of the word, a weight bully, a verbal bully, a real a$$hole, but just like a bully, he is a coward when faced with someone his size, someone that many might consider the more dynamic talent. The fight needs to marinate? For what? Benny is not a huge PPV draw, he does well at the gate, but not to the point that he can hold some type of financial status over a worthy opponent. I have always believed DM would be DB, maybe even stop him, it seems Benny's camp agrees with me.

This fight doesn't even 100 K PPV right now. I would love to see, but not many people know who Morell is.

Hasn't beaten Plant? Hasn't even been on PPV. Hasn't beaten anyone. Al Haymon would be dumb doing this next. I as fan would love it next, but it's always business first.
Who the fvk is plant? His claim to fame is losing two fights. I tell you what, find me an 11 fights boxer with a better resume than DMJ.

While they marinate fights we just get older and older.

Sampson Lewkowicz..........who knows what the truth is. What I do know is that Benavidez and Morrell have had their careers sidelined in a division that never paid off so they both had no choice but to move up. Even if the fight is in 2025, neither fighter has had much experience or exposure at the higher weight so I'm not surprised.

Stop the nonsense. Benavidez fight was offered by his pops to Morrell a year ago and in fact Showtime Espinoza got upbeat by the news and was preparing to make the fight. Morrell came out and announced his trainer told him he's not ready for prime time. He took 2 more practice fights since. Stop fooling yourself. Benavidez is the more established fighter and can do fights on his own time, not some guy who when he's told to do the fight he says he's not ready when he's been the one bugging Benavidez for the fight.
I'm not a fan of any of these fighters, but it's just wrong. It's like being called for a job interview and you say you'll be ready next week. It's insulting.
Benavidez will take the fight sooner or later, but let him decide when.

Both Benavidez and Morrell struggled to hurt their opponents at 175 and neither was as destructive at a higher weight. I think it is simple, they have the same power they always had but bigger guys can take their shots better. Both of them will have to box more and make sure their conditioning in first class (for some reason Benavidez struggled in that department too). Neither one beats the winner of Bivol - Betrebiev.

Yeah their power didn’t carry over that’s for sure
Let alone the fact that both ain’t ready for the big leagues

That is the problem with marination
Yeah , sometimes things happen during the marination and the pooch gets screwed. It's a bit of a high wire act so it has to be decided if the risk / reward ratio is worth it. I think so in this case , but then again the Universe scoffs at mankinds best laid plans quite often.

Sampson needs better PR skills. Fans hear the word 'marinate', they think 'duck', it's been that way since Lopez-Gamboa didn't happen. Any promoter is surely aware of that.
I was really looking forward to that Lopez / Gamboa fight too. What a bummer that was.
