He retired because he wanted to, He has achieve all he wanted to and he was at the right age to give it up, He was old,out of his prime and had to deal with too many injuries all the sign of getting out when you're at the top.

For the record no one on the super six would beat calzaghe or have the style to beat him.

yes i realize thats what he said but he's a notorious liar and douchebag. people should stop saying their were no challenges out there cause their were plenty.

as if shot jones jr was a great challenge. had he beat a top opponent in 5 years nope. dawson beat tarver, johnson, and adamek and hes an overhyped bum? but lacy who beat no top opponents is somehow a great win cause he looks kinda like tyson. makes perfect sense...........

how about that hopkins rematch..............oh wait retired instead of getting his head boxed off again. i dont blame him i wouldnt wanna fight a guy i couldn't hit and rocked me numerous times. probably wouldn't get 3 incompetent judges again anyway so whats the point. call it a day and make a fool of yourself on a dancing show instead of a boxing ring.

Of course there would alway be challenges for boxer in the ring, No matter who you beat people would alway toss the next big thing towards you but when you have brains, your money and your healthy then you would know when you retire and get yourself out and Joe did that.

If the guy retired at the age of 25 then i can agree with some of your point but he retired at the age of 37 so for me your point in baseless, I dont mind people critising boxers but if they want to do that they should do it with great points, Its no good saying he should fight this fighter and after he beats that fight then the fighter was no-good or old in the first place.

amateur style? i dont know man...thats like calling manny pacquiao amateur style...

unconventional? yes...amateur style? well...i guess youd have to get your ass beat by his "amateur style" punches before you give him credit...to make it easier on you, you can stand it front of a batting cage machine, and take 50 fastballs off your forehead...

did you watch the roy jones fight and think of yourself as a calzaghe expert or something? because that was a pretty ****** comment...no offense...

well not many people thought he beat hopkins but guess he's fine retiring after that farce of a decision. he just moves on and fights..............roy jones jr? what the hell. guess people were tossing out roy jones jr as the next big thing?

offense taken...you limey **** suckin mutha****in beastiality cum guzzling pitching little ***** sonofabitch with your ****** fatass mother and her dirty....just kiddin

but you dont think swinging harmless punches for 20 seconds so the ref has no choice to stop it is unproffesional?
pro boxing your goal is to actually hurt the other guy
show that you'd win in a fist fight...calzaghe does'nt show that at all, he'd probabley get the **** beat out of him by some street bum just like the bums that knocked him on his ass before a 43 year old hopkins and a shot to pieces legless roy jones

another calzaghe fan in denial. amateurs are all about racking up "points" without doing any damage. exactly what calzaghe does or tries to do. he thinks he's following amateur rules still. calzaghe just makes it look extra ****** cause he slaps like a sissy.

Your arguements are poor and ******ed, Nobody was calling RJJ the next big thing, You kept on ****ing on about Hopkins but we were not the judges or referee all we know is one fighter had his hand raised at the end of the fight.

Calzaghe fought RJJ for money and he very well deserves it at 37 years old..

you must not have seen kessler's face between rounds after round 5 in the calzaghe fight?

it was the face of a world-class puncher who had no clue how to prevent his face from getting continually punched in...

youre whole "calzagle just slaps" theory ran dry after he out punched a world-class puncher in his prime in kessler...sorry buddy...

and that's why nobody respects him thanks for making my point! he fought a totally shot guy just for money over all the other real challenges he could have took. bottom line he was scared of losing and hopkins made that oh so clear when he escaped with a strange decision win when he got outboxed and couldn't touch his opponent. his legacy is a SD over hopkins where he was totally shut down and a win over kessler. the title defenses is pure **** since almost all of the challengers were not worthy of getting title fights. certainly nothing all time great worthy.
