  • Kessler would have the best chance, and having already been in the ring with Zaggs once, he'd be better prepared...but beat him? Odds would be pretty low. Zaggs would probably be a 5/1 favorite.

He has later said that the hand caused him no trouble during the fight. I believe the key word here is 'DURING'. The hand was sedated so he didn't feel the pain. The problem was rather that he couldn't spar in the 3 weeks leading up to the fight. Ask any pro and he'd tell you that the most important sparring is just there, so obviously it was a major handicap.
Nelson you need a reality check mate ...you need to watch this video ...eveybody knows his loss to calslappy was nothing to do with his hands lol
Just listen to what kessler says at the toward the end!

Whether there were problems with his hands or not, the one thing I will say is this interview shows that Kessler is a class act. If there were problems, he lied and made no excuses. If there werent problems, he didnt make up an excuse and just admitted losing to the better man that night. Joe gets so much hate because in all honesty we know he is a very good fighter, but we do not know how good he was because he was never beat. Not only was he never beat, but I never really saw him hurt and I think Ive seen about 30 of his fights. Knocked down 4 times, early knock downs where he rose quickly and either finished the round strong, or won during that round. Should be noted that he wasnt knocked down until his mid 30s. He had two split decisions. Both were from somewhat biased judges. Sorry, but if you can go to a legend's home country and win over two judges, you won in my book. It would be like going to the Ukraine and SDing a Klitschko...it will never happen. You would need a knock down a round to beat a Klitschko in the Ukraine by decision. Joe was great, but because of the competition and the many reasons he didnt face great competition during their prime and his own prime (9 out of 10 reasons werent his fault...managers, money, giving up titles, great competition not wanting to fight him, traveling to the U.S. and dealing with home-cookin, guys that were thought to be great didnt pan out ie. Jeff Lacy, guys who were very good but unknown in the states ie. Veit, Reid, even Eubank to some extent, Collins retiring...Collins would be a great win and winner got a prime RJJ, and finally Joe's fault... his lack of desire to prove he is an ATG.) Because of that Joe might be marginally great or he may be the greatest, you dont know. To say with definity is like watching the Pats vs. the Titans yesterday and just watch that game and declare the Pats are the greatest team ever or they are just a good team. Truth is you dont know and no one knows about JOe and thats why the debate will be endless.
