Fighters hurt their hands all the time in fights Calzaghe,Hamed,Benn they all hurt their hands in fights but never blamed loses on them!
Kessler is a warrior he knows in his heart of heart that his hand played no part of his lose to Calzaghe...thats why he didnt bother saying anything after the fight at ringside nor at the postfight presser !
Kessler is a good fighter...but he wouldnt beat calzaghe at anytime
That's right. Perhaps him not saying anything either at that time or now, could be because he pre-fight said that there would be no excuses.

He has later said that the hand caused him no trouble during the fight. I believe the key word here is 'DURING'. The hand was sedated so he didn't feel the pain. The problem was rather that he couldn't spar in the 3 weeks leading up to the fight. Ask any pro and he'd tell you that the most important sparring is just there, so obviously it was a major handicap.

      Its an excuse.
It's true. He had surgery after the fight.

But I still voted no one.

Surgery and the addition of Jimmy Montoya to his corner have improved him, and I'm sure he would do better in a rematch than he did last time though.

Even if it is true, what evidence is there to say Kessler would beat him? He was throwing the right hand fight and there was no signs of ring rust from lack of sparring infact he was doing well up until Calzaghe adapted.

So you like the Montoya addition?

I don't. I think he was faster under Olsen and the corner looked a mess in the Perdomo fight since both Montoya and Olsen gave advice. This potentially leads to disaster.

Like I said, I voted no one.

Kessler looked a little slow and ****** in the Calzaghe fight. I would pick Joe to win again. I would like to see a rematch though.

People act like Calzaghe is something special. He struggled with a 43 year old and got a gift. If Kessler fails, there goes Calzaghe's leagcy

                    Ok.

No evidence other than a better prepared Kessler likely wouldn't have lost the faith in himself as I believe was the case. And seeing how well he fought despite the injury one can of course only imagine how a Kessler at 100% would have fared. As I stated earlier the loss of the most important sparring is real bad.

Of course Kessler chose to take the fight and the money instead of the risking a Warren cancellation if asking for a postponement. The choice was his. Yesterday he said to a danish paper that he would have fought for nothing if he just would have come out of the fight with a win so he must regret the decision today.

                      Yes I love it.
IMO Kessler's corner was awful in the Calzaghe fight. They should have ordered the offensive not later than after round 7 - 8, they had him trying the same strategy until the last round. When he rejected the plan and just fought in round 12, he did quite well.

The Perdomo fight showed a rusty Kessler in the first rounds. He couldn't get his defensive style to work, Montoya ordered the assault after round 2.

Olsen is great at adjusting Kessler when he controls the fight, Montoya can fix problems.
