Bakole was the star of the night

Can't blame Bakole for wanting to try and set the record straight and after how impressive he was last night Hunter getting another win over him puts him in the mix so its in his best interest.Comment

Hunter will be his next one for a stay-busy fight, or another highlight reel.
He won't be immediately paired with the top guys like Zhang and others.
Of course he'll beat Hunter next time. Hunter will come in for the check

Hunter is 36 and would be giving up 30 pounds plus, I don't really want to see him take a beating like he would almost certainly be taking in a rematch.Comment

Bring on Zhang or Kabayel for Bakole.
Anderson was a hype job, but beating undefeated black American on American soil is always good . I think Bakole will get a good fight. Maybe Zhang?
Fury, Usyk and Joshua will all avoid him. Too strong, too dangerous.Last edited by JakeTheBoxer; 08-04-2024, 12:55 PM.Comment

Well Anderson was a hyped USA heavyweight. Anderson was down in round one and twice in round five before being stopped.
Impressive as Bakole was, Anderson was not fully committed to boxing and had issues with the law. As such his career could be over. As I said before, Anderson has no defense.
Bakole will need to be in better shape to rate higher. Like 270 LBS. He was 284 1/2 last night.Comment

In terms of "who increased their value compared to before the fight" department, I think it is a very close arguement but it is Rayo (actually winning the belt against a popular Mexican), Bakole (impressive KO of a HW contender with name value), then...Madrimov, if anything.
Crawford still won, I am not denying that or devaluing that achievement. However a close decision win didn't raise his value as much as the younger and much less experienced "nobody (as many on here considered)" Madrimov giving a top 3 P4P fighter a very close match that wasn't determined until the last two rounds. While he did lose a very close fight, given his current age and ability I think he will get a good chance to fight for a belt again within the next 2-3 years because I think Bud retires before he hits age 40 at the latest.Comment
