Oh, it's you again. No LOLs or Hello Kitty emojis in your post? Arum and Top Rank are normally very careful in their matchmaking for prospects. However, if they see red flags with one of their fighters it's not uncommon to see them match their prospect tough in a sink or swim fight to see if the fighter is worth investing in. They soured on Elvis Rodriguez and put him in against a very capable Kenneth Sims, Jr. Sims. He lost that fight and they parted ways.

Anderson has been talking about how he doesn't love boxing and wants to ascend to the top and retire early. For a promoter that means you get less return on your investment if he does manage to succeed. Then there's the fact that Anderson has been involved with out of the ring issues (speeding, guns, etc) and his less than impressive performances against Martin and Merhy.

Bakole's team said that nobody wanted a fight with Martin after he beat down Yoka and he was being avoided. Then Top Rank called them and offered them the Anderson fight. That's a helluva step up for Anderson, Top Rank wanted to see if it was worth investing in Big Baby. They got their answer.

Anderson made the mistake of fighting a healthy Bakole. LOL. Let's face it, Bakole is good. He destroyed this hyped up mediocre boxer without breaking a sweat. Anderson bought into his own hype just like Dubois and suffered the same fate. Annihilation at the hands of another contender. Anderson is done. Bakole is ready to fight for the belts.
He can fight for the belts, but IMO he will never beat A.J., Fury, Usyk.

Respect to Anderson as nobody wanted to know Martin , let alone fight him .Anderson can come back at 24 but it was an emphatic KO that was on the cards from the the 1st round .Martin would not allow Anderson to clinch , so Anderson had nowhere to go other than try and KO the big guy , but he was outgunned and it only looked a matter of time.

Michael Hunter might be the best American HW of the last 10 years, as sad as it sounds.

Easy to say now, but I always got the American David Price vibes from Jared.

There is nothing to suspect here, unless you are calling Bakole a suspect for assaulting Anderson, but that's every fighters job to mug his opponent.
Bakole deserves a chance to fight any available contender in his quest to fight for the heavyweight championship of the world.
I became a fan ever since he traveled to France for an opportunity to fight the undefeated Tony Yoka, and he did defeat Yoka, by majority decision.
How many prospects actually do that? Take on all comers? Bakole is a very tough fighter.i like him alot and I was very surprised when Top Rank made the fight between him and Anderson. Prior to that, they were very careful in their matchmaking. Big Baby was supposed to fight Kossobutskiy but that fight fell through due to visa issues (Kossobutekiy was found out when he quit against Ajagba). Anderson got Martin instead and struggled. He was fed the punching bag Rudenko and then a blown up, light hitting cruiserweight in Merhy.

When they announced that Anderson would face Bakole (who has been avoided since the Yoka fight), it seemed obvious that Top Rank decided to match Anderson tough to see if he was worth continuing to invest in. Bob didn't want to wait around with a careful development of his prospect HW if he was showing red flags in and out of the ring.

Hunter, at his best, was pretty damn decent. He gave Usyk a good fight for about 7-8 rounds at CW, has wins against Kuzmin and Bakole and fought Povetkin to a draw. It's a shame he made some of the decisions he did in his career (like going with Triller for a quick buck after Matchroom jettisoned him).

Definitely wasn't an upset, I thought the most likely outcome happened.

Anderson can come again if he wants it enough. Look at Dubois, he was written off as a quitter and hype job because he was young and went in with someone who bullied him, but he's got himself together, a couple of good wins and now he's in a huge fight.

But with Dubois, boxing is his life, I don't see that level of determination in Anderson.

There was no effect of Anderson‘s Power Punches. Bakole is too big and strong
