i just wonder why Morrell, who had two Al Haymon lap dogs, DeCubas Sr and DeCubas Jr on his team, only has 10 fights in 5 years, when as Haymon’s lap dogs they could have pretty much made any fight they wanted.
I’m just saying, that makes me think what’s going on that we don’t really know about Morrell?
Yes, Morrell is correct that Canelo has avoided Benevidez and instead fought questionable opponents. For Canelo to say that certain fighters are not at his level, how the fook is Berlanga? Lately, Canelo has proven himself to be quite a hypocrite.CPNUTKnockoutFreshMart likes this.

Since his 5th fight he wanted to fight him and his people changed trainers, Shields wanted to know him a little better and told everyone that he will wait, that was his 6th fight and first with him, two fight later he gave the okay and benavidez was offered the fight and he chose aandrad, and hasn't look his wsy since. Get your facts straight.

With that said, every boxer does this once they get to the top level. Picking the easiest money fights. I don’t like the fight, and yes Canelo is absolutely, 100% ducking Benavidez. But he paid his dues already. Canelo already fought the guys that his critics and the media said he needed to fight.
Pretty much every fighter, no matter how great they were, have someone, or multiple fighters, that they didn’t fight and critics wanted to see them fight.
It looks like at this point, Benavidez will be that guy. But look at how Benavidez thinks he’s too famous to fight Morrell, and feels like it supposedly means nothing. Benavidez not fighting Morrell is way worse than Canelo not fighting Benavidez. Mainly because Canelo already fought a bunch of boogey men that fans said he would never fight. Benavidez has yet to have 1. His chance is Morrell Jr, just like a Canelo fought GGG, Lara, Trout.Last edited by garfios; 07-31-2024, 10:08 PM.alfred64 likes this.

No, that is not true, it was on his first fight with him. Before his 10th fight they had agreed to fight, only for benavidez to choose andrade. I know Shields vetoed the fight but was on his 6th, which was his first fight with the Cuban. When he knocked out Aidos, Shields gave him the green light.

Morrell hasnt even faced a top 10 yet and somehow you think hes ready for the big dogs and im not talking about canelo only. A poster above made an interesting observation , DMJ has only 10-11 pro fights in 5 YEARS! Clearly the real sht here is his managing/promoting ,just awful.
