Not interested. I like for guys to fight fighters in their weight class. Canelo is too big for Bud. Jermell looked too small vs Canelo and he's much bigger than Bud.

I think Madrimov is a seriously live opponent in this. Too many people are looking at the fact Madrimov only has 11 pro fights.

Madrimov is no joke. People Who are judging him off his lack of pro fights are going to be in for a rude awakening after a few rounds.

I honestly think a lot of people haven't seen him fight. Someome on here said he's flat footed he's anything but.

Some people just see an eastern European sounding name and 11 fights and think he's some stiff straight line euro boxer. Hes extemely athletic.

Bud is smart though, as are his team. They'll be fully aware that Madrimov isn't to be overlooked in any way.

Bud has his hands full here.

Don't disagree with any of that well other than the plonker who claimed he was flat-footed, what a laughable take.

Your first line is a lie.

Is he a legend? No. He is young enough to still change that, doubt he will if he stays with PBC his whole career seeing as PBC fights fight once a year if that.

Is he a house hold name? No, neither is Canelo. Canelo is a household name in Mexico, latino America, and among Mexican Americans. Bud isn't a household name among any demographic.

Is he a first ballot HOF? Not at the moment but like I said he still has a chance to change that.

Bud is an ATG at this point, no dis*****g that. Just like I don't dispute Canelo being an ATG (from our discussion on the other thread lol). Bud still needs to knock off the young guy that everyone is raving about. It's either fight Boots or fight a respectable name at 154 for a belt. Moving up 3 weight classes is ******.

Crawford is in a tough spot here, fighting Canelo is the best option. Its the most money he can make and defined his legacy with a win. Unifying 154 will look great on paper despite him beating nobody's. And fighting Boots is the best fight for the fans, but doesn't bring any money or legacy.

Bud would get no credit. It'd be same as when Mayweather fought Canelo. Sure, the guy might be great one day, but at the moment, it means nill. Nevermind the fact you wasted all this time and money on a training camp to make maybe $5 million when 30 is just up the road WITH the belts, glory, and lifelong legacy to boot (pun intended)

BAD fight for Canelo...if he loses to Bud people will say he lost to a natural 140+ lber whereas if he loses to Benavidez it'll be to the naturally bigger guy with huge height, reach and weight advantages. Therefore, this loss will be an easier pill to swallow (just like Bivol).

Also, NOBODY wants to see this chit...we'd much rather see Canelo/Benavidez & Crawford/Boots instead!

As much as I wouldn’t mind seeing this insane stunt by Crawford, I think those plans are going to fall apart by Saturday.

Lately I’ve been thinking ever since the Spence fight people have been thinking (on a subconscious level) that every Bud fight is going to be a one-sided destruction and that he is going to look like that 85-90% of the time. Sure, his stoppages have been warranted but Porter got saved by his dad and Spence (as much as I celebrated my ass off that night) I wonder how much of it was Crawford and how much of it had to do with Errol’s inactivity and such.

With Crawford’s age, him fighting once a year, and going up in weight to fight a solid guy in Madrimov, I think Crawford will look good but absolutely nowhere near what he’s looked like in his past five fights. I think he either beats Madrimov by a competitive UD (116-112) or if it gets worse (for him) a majority decision.

I hope I’m wrong but I think back that Crawford was down on the cards after the first four rounds against Gamboa (I know, I know…it was 10 years ago) and the Porter fight was competitive up until the very end when he started scoring knockdowns.

I’m intrigued by the match-up but the more I think about it, the more I start to think that Crawford going up to 168 after ONE audition at 154—not BORDERING on suicidal—IS suicidal.

But him beating Canelo would be among the sport’s greatest achievements in history. Sucks Canelo got stripped. Part of the intrigue was to see if Crawford could be three time undisputed. Beating Canelo at this juncture would mean he would be sort of in the same boat as Claressa Shields (two weight undisputed, unified in a third).
