Canelo would be UP for this fight. Reynoso found the blueprint to take the fight to Golovkin, the one they laughed at Roach for when Fury fought Wilder. Benavidez is neither. Benavidez is not knocking out Canelo and is too fundamentally flawed to outbox him. While making Benavidez fight off the back foot, Canelo would rip his body, especially when Benavidez shells up both on and off the ropes. Benavidez, who fights tall, would have to employ a Kovalev-type jab (he doesn't have) to touch Canelo, whose high guard catches and upper body movement slips most of Benavidez's squared up arm punches. Benavidez lunging in leaves himself open to Canelo's timing and thus, counters, while Canelo's footwork lets him take rounds off escaping Benavidez who is usually off balance, especially at times his stance is too wide. Down the stretch, Benavidez walks into the punch Reynoso specifically has Canelo work on for 8 weeks. Most likely, a more powerful version of the hook Gavril KD'd him with.
