Its the fight everyone wants to see fans and pundits alike. Benavidez has been the mandatory for 2 years but Canelo won't even entertain him, but is fighting fighters from one or two divisions below then prices himself out of the fight asking for 150 mil. It smells like a yellow streak to me. You Canelo fans need to wake up to the fact.

Those are the cold hard fact's! Canelo doesn't get a pass now from fighting his mandatory challenger, because of his past achievements.
You have to the defend the title against the best fighter available in your division at the present time or be stripped for not proving that your the best now!!!

He also use the price yourself out card to duck. He said that Benavidez hasn't done anything deserving, yet clenelo asked for $200 million. PS what did Yildirim do to get the fight

Canelo has never been worth 200 million for a fight, what's more he'll never be worth 200 million in the future!
His catastrophic bull**** reign towards the end of his career, will follow him long after he has retired from the sport.

Canelo wants some things that he's not deserving of, or entitled to 1. retaining his belts without fighting his mandatory challenger,
2. big money for small fights, 3. cherry picking his opponent's in order to extend his career.
If he want's to extend his career through cherry picking who he wants to fight, he can't be allowed to do so as champion.

It's official! Canelo has completely ducked the #1 contender again. When the history books are written and his name comes up this will be the first thing that people think of not his past accomplishments. What a sad ending to his career. Why on God's green earth would he do this to himself? Fighting him and taking an L would have been far less harmful than what this will end up being long term.

He says Puerto Rican boxing surpasses Mexican boxing with Gomez, Trinidad, Cotto, and now Berlanga.
Didn't Gomez get his meatloaf touched up by Salvador Sanchez? Didn't Trinidad get a bit of a gift decision over Oscar? Didn't Cotto get the pink crocs beat out him by Margarito?? yes the same Margarito that stepped to the great Floyd and made him sh...t down his leg?

Gomez, Trinidad, Cotto, Benitez, Camacho, Vasquez, Ortiz, Escalera, and the list goes on, and on had many more wins against Mexicans, then the other way around!
That they lost to 1, 2 or even 3, doesn't trump all of the wins they scored against some of the toughest boxers, and champions that the Mexicans had at the time!
Margarito's win was tainted (loaded gloves), and Cotto stopped him in their rematch, when Margarito had to rely on his own power (without the aid of plaster).

To get a Canelo fight you have to:

Be respectful
You CANNOT rehydrate to more than him
You CANNOT be a "horrible fighter"
You CANNOT be Mexican (or you can be - it depends what side of the bed Canelo gets up from in the morning)
You have to have fought "with somebody"

You are more likely to earn a Canelo fight if:

You campaign at 147lbs
You campaign at 154lbs
You've been at 168lbs for a short amount of time
You're a limited mandatory challenger
You're a limited unbeaten contender
You're 36 years of age or over

You absolutely, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES will not earn a fight with Canelo if:

Your name is Dmitry Bivol
Your name is David Morrell Jr

He wants to move up for a payday. Keep it real.

If a challenge is what he was really after, he'd shoot for Benavidez - the guy Canelo is actively ducking.

Canelo is getting close to the end. I don't understand why he continues to fight if this is what he's going to do with the remainder of his career.

Because he's an 8-figure prizefighter, a status that very few boxers ever attain. He will continue to finesse the business until his body breaks down.

The mental gymnastics Canelo uses to justify these fights while avoiding other matchups is always interesting. I'd prefer to hear the truth although I imagine that would be difficult to to himself and his fanbase.

It would be damn near impossible, for Canelo who is a pathological liar to ever tell the truth, and utterly humiliate himself.

If he dropped the belts and then just went around fighting sub par opponents we would cheer for him. What he is doing is only ruining his legacy. Unnecessary and shortsighted.

Canelo is to much of a narcissist to ever do that.
