Shakur Stevenson left Arum for this fight and he's now a free agent. So where's the appreciation? I thought Arum has been the reason why the fight couldn't happen. This sport never runs out of excuses why fights can't happen, isn't it? There's always roadblocks everywhere it goes.

This is a great match up completely different styles but important lead for Davis v Loma next year.

He had to take a long rest of 3 months minimum, then another 3 months of negotiations, about six months total, minimum. What's wrong with fighting Stevenson who is available? What a huge joke this sport has become. Makes me puke.
Pitbull is fighting next Saturday! It’s not like Tank has to wait long! If Pitbull shines, that rematch is much more lucrative than a fight with Shakur! No matter which one he chooses, the haters will say he’s ducking the other one, so might as well get the biggest bag possible!

The one thing Tank has over everyone Shakur has faced outside his power, great IQ, ring smarts and speed his confidence is on another level and will be hard to break that type of fortitude when you can't really punch. We all know he Shakur smooth and makes decisions look easy, but I'm betting Gervonta not having that **** and will place pin point shots on him while coming forward and being aggressive, not saying it's a win for Gervonta, but I believe Shakur will have to raise his game big time to seal the deal!

I suppose that’s the only bargaining chip he really has but it really sounds like a built in excuse. “If the money is right” talk

Weren't you the one joyfully spreading the news that Shakur is leaving Arum? What happened to that enthusiasm now? And where did you get this idea that Tank is fighting Pitbull? It all started from you in this thread. Where is the link that says Tank's team is waiting for Pitbull? Or this is just a hoax to help Wahid move the ball away from his court.

Tank ducking Shakur is the ONLY excuse now.

                Loma ducked Tank
                Tank ducking Shakur

Stevenson not prepared to gamble on himself. He did the same when he could have had the Haney fight. He doesn't have a promoter and is very definitely the B side here so will need to be prepared to accept very short $$$.

Unfortunately, Davis will never fight Shakur because he is a very difficult challenger who lacks both the name recognition and the necessary crossover appeal among casual fans.

In addition, he doesn’t bring enough money or put enough meat in the seats due to his non-crowd pleasing boxing style. Therefore, he is not even worth Gervonta Davis’ while.

I am happy for Shakur, that he left Top Rank! When Loma and Navarrette are both with Top Rank, and you can only get consecutive fights with Edwin De Los Santos, and Artem Harutuynyan, then it's time to go! Tank was negotiating with TR for Loma, Loma swerved him! So now Tank's best options are Shakur, Pitbull, and Zepeda! Zepeda had a great performance, Shakur had another lackluster victory, and Pitbull fights next Saturday, August 3rd. My "idea" is that Tank should wait to see how Pitbull performs, before making a decision! If Pitbull shines, especially with a KO, I think Tank should go with him, because Pitbull is an IBF Champion, large fanbase, and people are saying Tank is ducking the Pitbull rematch, because Tank went the distance, and Pitbull didn't have a full camp! Add to that PITBULL IS PBC! If Pitbull also has another lackluster fight, like the Cabrera fight, then no bueno! Zepeda is good to0, but doesn't have a belt, and Oscar will want a co-promo with DAZN, etc.! Shakur would be a great choice too, but he already sounds like he's going to overprice his value! I would love to see Tank vs. Shakur, but Shakur can't come in talking crazy, and he's done a lot of that since his last fight!
