Might be the first Canelo PPV I don’t buy. Been buying them all, even as far back as the Mayweather PPV. And been watching his fights since Tyner.

Canelo isn't a serious fighter anymore. We knew he would try to fight Berlanga sooner or later because Berlanga is trash and has some name recognition.

I expect to hear a lot of bullshyt regarding that miserable fight, from the cringey Mexico-Puerto Rico rivalry to how Berlanga is Canelo's mandatory.

So Benavidez hasn't fought anyone and hasn't earned it, but Berlanga has? Ok, Canelo. Disappointing, but I wish he'd just call it what it is.

Better than Eubank Jr, but not really by much.

Recently there has been footage of Berlanga getting downed by Erickson Lubin in a sparring match, which is just sparring and shouldn't demerit the fighter, but it doesn't help that people will look it up when this bout will be made.

He also got controversial wins over Coceres and Roamer Alexis Angulo, the first knocking him down and the latter despite being near his forties, overwhelming Edgar.

Looking foward more to September 20, Munguia vs Bazinyan.

This is terrible. Who on earth has Berlanga faced and beaten to warrant this type of paycheck for himself? Was his sole goal to stay undefeated beating chumps and somehow get involved in a mega fight with "the face" of boxing? He literally did nothing to earn it.

If I ever heard someone won the boxing lottery, this is the definition of that. Berlanga can probably retire after he gets KTFO because there is no where else for him to go after. He has zero accomplishments.
