Should IBF have ordered Spence to fight him? Obviously yes. But Ennis' team waited, 3 of 3 times now, to file for their shot until there was an obstacle in the way of the fight.
Everything you're talking about is literally just things people said after the fact to try to spin things. The FACTS are that Ennis' team waited to file petition one until Stanionis filed his, waited to file petition 2 until Bud v Spence was made, and waited on petition 3 until Spence activated his rematch clause. The FACTS are that he's got zero top 8 fights on his 32 fight resume. The FACTS are that Bozy is on camera admitting to turning down a fight offer to fight Bud. The FACTS are that Ennis chose IBF when Bud was defending the WBO belt. Are you choosing to ignore the preponderance of actual evidence in favor of claims made by Bozy?
Do you think he's going to show to Bud's fight on August 3? Yes or no.
He's got an opportunity to prove he wants that fight. If he's not there, mark my words it's because he's using Crawford for clout but he doesn't actually want the fight. Is he going to fight Stanionis, Barrios, or Norman next, or a top guy at 154? Or does he stay inactive to fight Crowley, or the likes of Alexis Rocha or Cissokho? I'd love for him to actually step up and prove he's more than eye test. I think he's the goods. But he's got to do more than let his pops run his mouth while fighting lower tier opponents. Right now, he's not worth anything, as Bud says. He's got nothing and nobody on his resume. Bud had already been undisputed at 140 along with his previous world titles when he was in Boots' spot. If Bud beats him, you'll just say he was too green, and point to his terrible resume. Bud was already willing to fight him when Spence wouldn't, and they turned it down. For Showtime, which isn't even in the boxing business any more. If you think he's actually the goods, you should be right here with me wanting him to PROVE IT.
