Bottom line is Ennis had a team with elaborate business plan. Which not many fighters that are starting out have. Many of them lose their zeroes early. At 20th-25th fight Jaron still had no interest in fighting fighters at higher level. Where was he when Avanesyan and Kavaliauskas were making names for themselves just like he was. Those guys were career welters just like him. Boots wasn't even interested in getting names which you call veterans like Berto, Alexander, Guerrero, Collazo, Josesito, etc. Avanesyan appeared in the US scene when he fought and beat Shane Mosley. Thurman got Guerrero, Collazo, Lopez. Boots got none. Why, because even those past-prime guys spooked his team. They had no confidence in him.

Unfortunately for the widow of his former manager/promoter who passed away, she won't be part any of it. She was even sued and we don't know how much she paid just to settle the frivolous lawsuit.

Millions of dollars more would start pouring in. And that's just by beating Avanesyan in any manner, shape or form. It doesn't even matter whether he would look good or not.

You know, when you start to gain a bit of recognition you want to head straight to the money fights like Spence and Thurman. You avoid mid-level risk, low reward types because you might get exposed or derailed. They wouldn't even look at Kavaliauskas, Josesito, Guerrero, or similar, just like most prospects want recognizable names albeit past-prime for stay-busy fights. Not this Ennis team.

Boots signing with Matchroom makes no sense whatsoever unless Hearn has gotten the green like from Turkie that he would pay Crawford some ridiculous money and Crawford is just looking to cash out because Father Time is not on his side.
However, if that’s not the case, Hearn is talking about Boots staying at 147 to become undisputed champ where there’s no much resistance. That means that Boots will remain at 147 for at least two years fighting nobody of interest to boxing fans because you can bet your bottom dollar that Al Haymon isn’t going to help Hearn getting the Mario Barrios or even a shot Spence fight and Golden Boy isn’t going to help Hearn fight Vergil Ortiz at 154 I. What’s left a PED cheater, Benn?
No Crawford fight for Boots? Ridiculous move signing with Matchroom. I don’t think DAZN will be willing to try another Canelo/ Hearn like experiment where Hearn will feed Boots a steady diet of Brit pizza drivers for ridiculous money at 147.
Very ****** move from Boots camp if they didn’t get 100% guarantee to fight Crawford or else be able to terminate the contract.Last edited by Phase III; 07-13-2024, 03:02 PM.
