How much does Shakur deserve in a Tank fight on a PBC card?

Good that you mentioned Wilder. And that's a good example of what I was talking about by recalling Finkel who turned down the $100 mil offer by then DAZN exec Skipper in his luxurious hotel suite. Shelley turned it down saying he first had to know what Joshua would be getting. And the story ends there. And there wasn't any more offer as lucrative as that since. The money has to come from somewhere. Sponsors won't pay for commercial time for unknown fighters. Networks aren't going to invest in fighters who can't draw flies. I do agree that they should offer fighters what they are worth, and in Shakur's instance he still only deserves a third of what Tank would make, at best. This reminds me of Wilder insisting on 50% of the purse when talks with Joshua went downhill. Joshua earned 10 - 20X as much per fight and had over a dozen endorsement deals. His earning power and popularity were at least 10x that of Wilder, yet Wilder thought he was worth half. Insane.Comment

Its not what Shakur deserves. Its what the boxing fans deserve and they deserve to see tank fight for the other 3 belts instead of paychecks. All this comments about money being offered by TR is nonsense if you can't have an estimate of what he deserves in a TDavis fight.
TR is offering him 5 fights for $3 million guarantee each. (I doubt broadcasters are making a killing on PPV these days, so talk of upsides are basically immaterial.)
So what's your guess? Why talk about he's being lowballed when you can't even make any estimate of what PBC is willing to offer him.Comment

Would YOU pay for a PPV on the strength of Shakur's name? I wouldn't. Haney's offer of 25% was extremely generous IMO. It's got nothing to do with skills and everything to do with his inability to go through the gears. If he's actually levels above, he should at least be able to TRY for a TKO. He doesn't sell, won't take any responsibility for that fact, and consequently massively overvalues himself. He's Rigo 2.0 except without even as much power as Rigo, and with a primadonna complex. We'll see who picks him up and for how much.Comment

I think because Shakur doesn't have much power, Tank will walk him down and check that chin by the mid rounds. He can't sit back and wait to counter Stevenson because he'll be waiting all night. So, Davis will have to go on the hunt.Comment

Not really
late ko coming for Davis
At one point , like everyone , Shakur will get tired and slip up and get caught but it will be late in the gameComment

And to make a reply of this part of your post, the sport of boxing is a complicated business, imho. For one, we have no way of knowing the exact size of every fight. If we say "Shakur only deserves one third of what Tank would make" we don't know how that translates to real figures, which is what most boxers are interested in knowing.
As a side note, there is one promoter, though, who don't even care about splits. Frank Warren of the UK. Now, I don't have clue what he was in the past or the negative things Brits mention when they talk about him. But I got curious when he was offering Avanesyan, who Frank promotes, to Eddie Hearn for Conor Benn. When Eddie mentioned about the money, Frank injected he (Hearn) should not worry about Avanesyan's paycheck. He would take care of it. Meaning he would pay Avanesyan whatever money he deserves in the fight. I was thinking, why can't promoters be all like this?

Yeah except it's not a lowball offer. fking Spence got a guarantee of $1.5 million vs Ugas. $3 mill a fight for Shakur is more than fair for what he brings to the table. PBC fans have a room temp IQ usually.Comment

That's exactly what this thread is about. If you keep on crying it's a lowball offer, then you should be able to show proof that it is by providing comparisons. Eddie Hearn didn't place a bid on the Martin/Haney mandatory fight saying it's just a waste to spend $1 million on such fight, which is probably more attractive to see than any Shakur fight. Isn't that interesting? He won't spend even $1 mil on such fight. And here is Stevenson getting offered 3x that amount regardless of who he fights and turns it down.
