“But I know my worth and I know who I am now. I understand my value, from when I first signed with them to now – it’s a lot higher." His fans booed him and some even left before the final bell. He might not be worth as much as he thinks.

The biggest stars today are tethered to promotional companies. Shakur's issue is that his achievements/skill level seems to outweigh his current earning potential, and he doesn't want to take the long road to enhance his market value. He believes he's entitled to those bigger purses right now. Devin Haney tried to take a shortcut to enhance his market value vs. Ryan Garcia, and it backfired. Then, Haney got mad because Matchroom (who isn't even his promoter) didn't bid on Haney/Martin, and Haney didn't like the bid Top Rank made. THAT is the consequence of independence. The free agent will suffer the most from market volatility. Shakur should get off Twitter, stop blaming everyone and take a long hard look in the mirror instead. He needs to think of all variables before he makes his next decision.Originally posted by pnut901Once a fighter has enough name recognition and the ability to hire people to handle the million moving parts of a fight promotion , I'd advise them to go the Mayweather way and promote their own fights. Floyd was getting a piece of every revenue stream connected to his fights. From the valet parking to the beers sold at the fight. As it should be , it's his life on the line in the ring. Why be a promoters employee when you can be your own boss ? The Haneys also seem to have a good business plan in not being tied to any one promoter.

Is it me or do Haney and Stevenson have no inside game? I feel like both have good skills but they can’t fight inside. Haney got destroyed on the inside by Garcia, who Haney didn’t outweigh by 20lbs and Stevenson sure ate some uppercuts and rights on the inside by Artem also.
Once Stevenson fights a fighter that is good fighting in a booth, he might suffer the same fate as Haney.
Stevenson is not worth $3 million a fight as well. Promoters are going to lose $$$ on him, I always stop watching his fights by the end of the 7th round because I know I’m going to see the same cycle of movement and punches. Gets boringComment

The guy offering shakur the deal, devin haney, took one of those deals to get his titles & he went to AUS x2 to get them
You do make a valid point He could’ve taken a bad deal just like others have in the past to get fights/ titles they want.
Maybe He let his ego and voices on his team tell him he didn’t have to do that. My guess is he saw Bob do for others and wanted same done for him.
.
Kambo, not a very high profile guy himself took a much bigger guarantee than haney (10 mil to 2.8mil) and if online is correct gave haney 30% of the ppv cash with rematch in AUS & haney said ok no probs and got the job done
On top of that, shakur is crying and crying about loma, well loma was tripping over himself to get the devin haney fight for all the belts, thats what happens when u have the belts, u call the shots, but not shakur because he didnt even go for them, no sympathy for him im afraid, made his bed now has to lie in it for a while at least

Not imo. TR has not done right by him.
We all killed Bud for staying with TR even though he was overpaid to fight weak comp. Shakur would be in the same boat.
I think it’s best to see what else is out there for you. He probably will not make $3 mil immediately.
Long term, we wi see.Comment
