Dohney is literally Inoue's WBO mandatory after goodman decided to go the IBF route. And inoue is fighting Dohney because he has a fight date lined up. But with dohney wanting the December date meant that inoue took replacement in Dohney as he has achieved cult following in Japan. So inoue can't fight MJ cause the time frame doesn't line up. The right thing to do for mj is to fight someone good in the mean time, instead of staying inactive.

For the record I wanted MJ, still want MJ, and hoping for MJ sometime around first half of next year before Inoue moves up.
That being said the timing WBA mentioned the mandatory was definitely way too late and the deadline way too short. After the Goodman fallout, it was not exactly a secret that a match with Doheny was in deep negotiations and all but finalized for September and then demanding a September match only means they either want some way to break the belts off, or just did it in spite. If WBA didn't have other intents and simply wanted a mando fight, they should've slapped it on the day after the Nery fight ended, or at the latest the moment Goodman negotiations fell through and not wait until the backup with Doheny was in full force.
Unfortunately with Doheny all but confirmed, my next hope would be that MJ actually wants the smoke for real and shows up to December during Inoue-Goodman to the ring. Or better yet find some way to somehow swap Goodman with MJ for December. Goodman can go cry a river in that case, as he really started this fiasco by his bravado words in May and then not wanting September which is still idiotic.
Inoue was left hanging, and had to find another fight to keep busy, so booked TJ Doheny (WBO No.2). Doheny was a quick replacement option, because Inoue's camp already had an agreement with Doheny as the backup defense card in case Nery failed to make weight; an issue Nery had in the past.
Then Akhmadaliev (WBA No.1) was ordered as a WBA mandatory. Because Inoue Doheny was already more or less agreed before Akhmadaliev was ordered, Ohashi refused to cancel Doheny to start negotiating with Akhmadaliev. Inoue will likely fight both Goodman and Akhmadaliev. It's just pushed back because Goodman ignored the mandatory challenge to stat pad.

Anyone else agree we should stop shouting "duck" every time a fighter challenges another/is some sanctioning body's mandatory, and the challenged fighter doesn't fight him immediately?
For decades (since the 3-belt era) standard duck-calling procedure required about a year of a guy fighting other guys instead of the mandatory/loud challenger. Remember, a year in boxing is both a short time & a long time at the same time. After that, all things being equal, yeah you ducked him.
I understand that we've collectively become used to immediate gratification so maybe a year seems like a much longer time than it used to but still, it's like people scream "duck" 30 seconds after a guy gets publicly called out.

Everybody he hasn't fought he's "ducking"
And after he knocks their ass out they suddenly become "nobodies" lmfao
And who tf is this lance dude anyways? Isn't there an Inoue hater is here by the same name? Is it a coincidence or do all haters name their kids that.Comment

Big Inoue fan but don't like how he's handled this. I wouldn't call it a duck because they were pencilled in to fight in December, so if the fight still happens then so be it. But if not, I'd be more critical as the fight should happen. Especially poor that he is fighting Doheny.
If you want to become undisputed and then vacate belts soon after then ok, multiple guys have done that. But if you want to hold on to them all and continue to be undisputed, then you have to accept that it'll be one mandatory after the other.
Also don't like what Goodman has done. He had the win over Aleem that impressed people. He has good skills and talent and is as ready for Inoue as he'll ever be. He should have been forced to either do the fight in September or have his mandatory spot taken away.Comment

He was WBA champ and lost his belt by split decision so had a high ranking. Then in his last fight he became WBA mandatory by beating a 26-0 opponent in a final eliminator. That's how it works, he earned his shot the same way as every other mandatory does, no corruption involved.Comment
