Lol Japanese didn't want inoie to fight nery at all. If they did they wanted him to do outside of Japan. Cause nobody wanted nery to receive money after what he did to Yamanaka. Instead they wanted to see inoue fight dohney. And that the reason dohney was the back up for nery at the dome, if he showed up overweight.
You think if the fight happened outside of Japan, Nery wouldn't receive a payday? What?
It's clear you don't know what you're talking about if you think the Japanese didn't want to watch Inoue give Nery a beating. That was the whole reason for wanting the fight. They even removed the ban just so it could be in Japan.
The Japanese wanted Inoue to fight Doheny and that's the reason why he was the backup fighter in case Nery failed to make weight? You've just said it yourself. Doheny was there just in case Nery pulled what he did with Yamanaka and came in overweight. He wasn't the backup because that's who they really wanted him to fight. That makes no sense. Haha.

Watch them sell out a 20,000 seater arena? Of course it will sell out. That's because of Inoue. You know, the way he did with Tapales, Butler and others? It would do the same if it was MJ too. Not because of Doheny.

And inoue wants to fight 3 times this year and next year too. Inoue always wanted to fight mj. Infact it was mj himself who made inoue do a detour cause he lost the belts. And the funny thing is that once inoue KOs mj. No one will give him any credit, everyone will say mj was a bum. Which has been the story of inoue's whole career.
I'd give Inoue credit for beating MJ. I'm not American or Mexican where i discredit those who do more than our own fighters. I'm a Brit. I'm a fan of Inoue. I just don't see any reason to face Doheny. It's a stinking fight.

They don't care about Doheny and they don't know him. Do you even know how many bought tickets to the Llamido fight?

Doheny was watched in a hall with about 1400 people. He will not be generating any money in Japan.
MJ wanted the fight when he held the titles. That's when the talk about the Inoue fight first came around for him. It's not just in the last few months he's started talking about it.BoxWhere likes this.

He should fight him, the mandatory being called put him in a time crunch and goodman being a pansy altered his plans but mj and fulton have been the best fighters at 122 for the past 3 years and if he doesn't fight him it's a big miss.

I thought I begrudgingly got over it already but the more I think about it again, the more I'm getting pissed off at Goodman more than WBA being petty with their timing. Don't friggin spew a bravado on stage against the champion AS THE BELTLESS CHALLENGER B-SIDE if you aren't actually willing to take it when given a legit offer by the undisputed champion, or only wants to fight when you want to. I for one don't believe the excuse they gave that Goodman "didn't want to wait until September because it will keep him inactive for too long" BS one bit. Given that he wanted a fight in July and was more than willing to take a fight in December-January timeframe, he obviously doesn't mind having 5+ month between his last fight and a world title fight. You can't seriously say with a straight face that a fight in late July was good to keep busy but 6 weeks later in early September would've kept him inactive for too long yeah right okay.
While Inoue certainly have jumped the gun to claim that it will be next fight on the ring, at the same time after all the big stage talk who would've thought that a career beltless challenger talking big would choose to reject a legit offer and biggest payday ever in his career because he wants to further one up it to get a chance at Saudi money instead of Tokyo money despite both being his career best pay regardless. Just for that cheap tactics I'm borderline at the point where I'm hoping that Goodman gets KOed by an one in a million fluke lucky punch by the unknown whoever the heck he's scheduled to face in July just so he loses out on a potential payday against Inoue as a whole, and the December fight gets slid to MJ anyway.
That being said if MJ ends up fighting some scrub in September at Wembley undercard the pessimist in me is starting to doubt if then he will have some other reason not to take a fight in December due to not enough time or whatever so maybe Goodman is still required as a backup. I was drooling over an Inoue-MJ card at first but forget popularity to casuals excuse Arum used which I don't give ****s about, MJ in general even prior to Inoue wasn't exactly looking too eager for an unification with Fulton either, and in hindsight he was veeeeeery quiet through the whole Goodman fallout. He was as if non-existent regarding next fight or plans or whatever since shortly after he won the eliminator last December. He also didn't even bother to show up and watch in Tokyo despite it being the undisputed fight where he is one of the mandatories for.
Doheny is a letdown no matter what, but at the least since the moment after he finished his undercard match in Tokyo at least he was constantly on the record for wanting the fight and the smoke through the Goodman failure. Sure the potential payday definitely mattered obviously and I'm sure already being in good relations with Ohashi/Top Rank helped in the end, but is there any reason that MJ didn't even let out a single peep to want the smoke himself until now? No comments about how he wants the winner of Inoue-Nery when it was announced. No comments about how he's better opponent than Goodman or Doheny while Inoue was actually still in the process of negotiation after Nery. Then after everything seemed to be settling on Inoue's side, starts talking once the mandatory ordered gets rejected. Hell even Casimero has also been willing to continue to talk crap after the Nery fight even though he's got an even crummier resume than MJ the past 18 months.
Granted that prior to this year starting if someone told me Inoue would fight twice in 2024, once against Nery and once against Goodman I probably would've taken it and hoping for MJ in early 2025, so I guess I should take the Doheny fight as just extra gravy in between.
