Usyk became the undisputed and lineal champion.

He is now the lineal champion. The man who beat the man and the ONLY man to hold all the belts simultaneously since Lennox Lewis.

The belts no longer matter at this point.

Usyk is the man to beat.

Wild that there's people defending the IBF for this. They absolutely do NOT follow their own rules consistently. How many times did Spence defend his belt across 4 years? One time, that's it. Then, there's finally a real champion in the division, they strip him immediately. I didn't mind that because Crawford was set on moving up, but let's not pretend it's about following the rules, since they conveniently forgot about those four years.

They have terrible rankings. Think about why AJ and Dubois are the ones getting an opportunity again. If there were ever a time to make an exception, it's when the two guys contesting for the belt are guys that have already lost in the ring to the champ. They couldn't beat him in the ring so they're just going to get gifted the belt out of the ring? IBF belt means fugh-all now. Might as well call it the I've Been Fughed by Usyk belt. Disgraceful, and you can see the bias inherent in pretending there's any kind of integrity to that decision.

If their rules say the smart thing to do is to take a belt from a guy to give it to the winner of a fight between two dudes he beat a total of three times in recent memory, the organization on the whole has no reason to exist anymore.

The idea behind crowning a champion is recognizing the best. Not filling a vacancy, not soaking up sanctioning fees, not rewarding the fighters that have jumped through your arbitrary hoops. If you came up with a set of rules that says you have to take a belt from a guy that everybody knows is the best fighter to give it to someone he already beat, you have absolutely failed the sport in every aspect.

Integrity? If the IBF had integrity they'd dissolve tomorrow. Same goes for the IBO, WBA, WBC, and WBO.
Listen, it doesn't matter whether Usyk has beaten DDD before. The fact remains that he has rebuilt himself after the loss to the point that he has become his mandatory. So, the sensible thing Usyk should have done if he wants to remain the undisputed champion was to honour his mandatory obligation first before facing Tipsy King again. So, there's no reason to act sentimental here. Usyk has made a decision that is apparently good for him. Period.

Real boxing fans should not support the trend whereby the champions hold the belt hostage simply because they want to milk out completely while others who have worked hard for their opportunity are left wasting their prime, llike what WBC and Wilder did to Whyte.

Usyk couldn't have gotten the Fury fight to begin with if he hadn't agreed to the two-fight deal. DuBois beat two total bums after the Usyk loss. Hrgovic didn't even really beat Zhang, he turned his back in that fight and would've been TKO'd if he weren't the A-side.

And Whyte? Just mentioning him as if he were the victim shows what a clown you are.

Whyte was ordered to face Luis Ortiz in a WBC final eliminator and refused. Ortiz got the title shot instead.

Whyte was offered a chance to face Dominic Breazeale for the title shot Breazeale had already banked by winning an eliminator. Whyte refused, Breazeale got the shot.

Whyte was offered a chance to face Kubrat Pulev in an IBF final eliminator. Whyte refused and Pulev beat someone else in the eliminator and got the title shot.

Whyte was offered a chance to face Anthony Joshua for the unified titles. He refused and Andy Ruiz knocked Joshua out instead.

Whyte was then ordered to face Oscar Rivas in a WBC final eliminator and finally accepted. Then he changed gloves after the glove selection meeting and got away with it, got dropped, and won the fight which ACTUALLY made him mandatory challenger for the first time. But then he popped for PEDs and got stripped.

Then he lawyered his way out of trouble and was given the chance to fight Povetkin.

Then Povetkin knocked him out cold.

Then, for some reason, Whyte was allowed to get his mandatory status back after he beat Povetkin in the rematch.

So, in reality, everybody bent over backwards to help Whyte. You know what's supposed to happen when you refuse to fight a final eliminator? You're supposed to be dropped from the rankings altogether. But instead the WBC just kept offering Whyte easier and easier options until he found one he was willing to fight in Rivas. And then he cheated in that fight, and then he got knocked out cold by a geezer, and then he got his title shot anyway where he again got knocked out.

Wait a minute, did you just describe Hrgovic as a "total bum"?

Whyte made quite a bit of money stepping aside

F Tyson, he should’ve beat him. Stop whining you are whining for a drug cheat. Boxing is a joke these days, fans start resembling broads all in their feelings. Tyson ain’t entitled to shhhh and considering the lying big af coverup be tried to do for cheating he should’ve been banned for life. Sit down, shut up, and man up.

Actuwlky I was too tired to correct my statement. AJ v DDD to me is 50/50, or better yet I have no idea know who wins.

but I think ZZ was an easier fight for amAJ, I’m surprised he went with DDD
