People literally would not shut up about this guy saying that he would go down as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. A 6'9 Giant that could not be beaten. But now after he loses to a cruiser that is much smaller than him and a good bit older than him, all of this greatest heavyweight of all time is thrown out the window and now he's just seen as another average fighter. Boxing is funny that way
Lots of people saw Tyson Fury as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and after this loss, he's just another nobody

I'm sure he's got millions of fans pumping in those millions he's paid for what he does, who might have thought he'd never be defeated; but most of us never believed that Marciano would lose his sole distinction of retirement without a loss to Fury.
Boxing is a game that generally will supply even the greatest fighters with a few L's before they quit.
Not an unnatural thing.

Not sure what his fans saw in him.
1. Men who are too small for the money.
2. Men who are sick, old, cowardly or weak, and know right away they are not able to contest for the money.
3. Men who don't want 50 -800 million dollars.
4. Men who are extremely tough, able,
and exceptional; the best of the best, who will devote their lives to mastering the hardest job in sports, betting their welfare that they can become the very best at it.
And somehow, the guy in Catagory 4 makes the sacrifice, passes the test, wins the title, takes the money.
...and he has "terrible technique".
If planet Earth was home to a man with better ability to fight than Usyk, Fury, Wilder and Joshua; he would be heard from.
Technique = Results in combat sports.

Lots of people went seriously overboard with hyping him largely off the back of the Wilder fights. Hes a good fighter who is exceptionally quick, slick and skilled for his size, but his resume after 39 year old Wlad and one dimensional Wilder drops off to the likes of Del Boy, unknown at the time Wallin, past prime never that great to begin with Shyte etc. Its not like hes extremely proven against a range of high level opponents. He is also very undisciplined, unfocused and inconsistent and has abused the **** out of his body.Comment

I never fell for that absolute horsehit theory…..he resume was built on fights against 2 fighters one who I felt had an off night and the other who was just a one trick pony who was probably the most protected heavyweight champion of all time and the only credible name was Luis Ortiz …..most people who believed that fury was up there with with Ali or Lewis were social media geeks or people that didn’t really know anything about this glorious sport.
just look fury’s resume over the last 10 fights and you will know.Last edited by The plunger man; 06-24-2024, 11:53 AM.Comment
