The bookies did not lose anything. Bookies don't gamble. They handle the 'book' for a percentage off the top.

The punters who did lose are scattered across the world and paid off their bookies within a week of the fight.

The losers are not 'now' going to go back to their bookies thinking they can get their money back.

Passing previous VADA tests is irrelevant.

He failed multiple drug tests, samples from before and after the fight. That is nobody’s fault but his own.

I was at a local club fight in the 80s. Kid shows up wearing high school gym shorts and sneakers.

Bell rings, kid dives to the canvas. Never let the opponent cross the ring. Down in literally one second; won't move.

Referee won't count. Kid won't get up. Referee still won't count. Kid still won't get up. We're two soild minutes in, the arena is silent. The referee won't count, and the kid won't get up.

Finally his seconds jump in pull him up, take him away.

The referee refused to count him out. The referee refused to DQ him. The referee refused to rule it a NC. The referee stood motionless never making a declaration or decision.

A full five minutes later: Announcer says there was "no fight."

Not a, DQ or a NC. No, no, either of them would consitute a fight and therefore a purse (maybe withheld).

But no, this was a "no fight." I guess different than a NC.

They announced the kid would not be receiving a purse. The crowd cheered. --- I yelled out, "Do I get 1/5 of my money back." (it was a Five Fight Card) --- The crowd cheered.
