I have to agree with that wholeheartedly. Floyd knew how hold when he got caught with good punch. M. Ali was the best at it cause he would hold the guy behind his neck.Comment

Folks really believe that Martin had a legitimate chance to beat Tank outright. He had a lucky punch chance to beat Tank. He was a B level fighter and it showed. Sure, he won at least 2 of the first 4 rounds, but that's because Tank took his time to impose his will. Whenever, I see a fighter turn away from his opponent and allow his opponent to tee off on them with haymakers, I know that, that fighter does not belong in the upper echelon of talent. As the fight went into the deeper rounds, Martin fought like someone who was accepting an offer to be knocked out. Tank obliged. Martin should have never been given a title shot. There are more qualified opponents. Tank needs to face them.Comment

Frank Martin didn't deserve a Title shot against Tank?
Besides Lomachenko & Shakur
Please
Tell us who the more qualified opponents Tank needed to face instead......
I'll waitComment

I'd rather see Tank VS Ryan Garcia (without a rehydration clause), Teofimo Lopez, Isaac Cruz, or Shakur Stevenson. Tank will surely knockout Loma and Haney - so I don't want to see those matchups either.Comment

Frank Martin's lack of championship experience was the major difference here. Not only was it exposed but it also showed. He didn't know what to do when the shorter guy gets inside. You immediately tie him up. That's what you do. Derrick James failed him in this fight.Last edited by Lefty0616; 06-17-2024, 10:34 PM.Comment

Also....I don't think Tank wants any part of Inoue. If Inoue was a smart business man, he'd add a few pounds and call out Tank.Comment

I agree with you with everything except, Derrick James didn't fail Frank Martin. James gave Martin a lot of advice/instructions in between rounds. Frank Martin is just not that good. The Tank camp said it best to James before the fight, "you're just here for a payday". James did show up for a payday. He knew in his heart that Martin wasn't good enough or ready for Tank. The Great fighters never cover up and let the opposition unload on them. The minute Martin laid against the ropes and allowed it, I knew it would be a matter of time before he would get knocked out. You don't allow a power puncher to do that - especially if you can't handle power punches. Martin is overrated, A Russell is overrated, and I have doubts about Keyshawn Davis as well.
Don't you agree? After all, Frank Martin didn't learn how to fight until he was in his late teens with virtually no amateur pedigree as compared to Gervonta "Tank Davis who has been fighting ever since the age of seven.
Champions are born not made.
