When I go to the gym, I feel a strong sense of pride to perform well to honor my Mexican heratige. Do you feel the same way about your German heratige?
Like you need to over-perform to uphold the good name of your ancestry? I know those that came before me and the "don't quit" attitude so that's something I have in the back of my head when I fight.
Do I need to learn Spanish? Of course. I feel like I let Latino's down when the come into my work and I can't communicate with them. It's something I plan to learn.

I've never been to Mexico and I even attended a predominantly white school. But I guarantee you, that no one feels more pride about their bloodlines and heratige than I do. I promise you that.

My mother was fluent but my dad grew up in foster homes and didn't learn the language because of this.

So obviously, my mother didn't speak it in the house. Sucks, wish I would have learned.
