ummm, yea thats pretty much a big part of it lol. how else would they give a **** about their heritage? by eating tacos at the local restaurant? you cant go around indulging in a heritage that is largely centered around language can you? if you speak a certain language, its probably because you live your life based on what is attached to that language. im sure these fighters you are standing up for listen to music they dont understand, participate in mexican traditions that require socializing, travel to mexico with out their little english-spanish dictionary...

Our parents, when they went to school in the 50s and 60s, were slapped silly for speaking spanish. Moving forward onto us, their children, oftentimes they thought it would be the same way. They didn't want us to have to go through that so we were primarily taught english.


Not being able to speak a language doesn't make someone less proud of their heritage or ancestry. It makes them a victim of circumstance.

dude im mexican to the fullest. just because i have german blood dont mean ****. a white american will consider them selves american, even though their blood is from europe. my great grandfather was german but lived in mexico because he had a share in a printing company. his wife and the rest of my ancestors are mexican.

there are 2 names i stated as examples in my case, ronnie rios and rocky juarez, both are 1st generation mexican-americans, so take your back ground story elsewhere because i just found out you dont belong in this conversation.

that was off topic from my point but now that you brought this subject to my attention, you are kinda trying to make a statement that all 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation mexican-americans are proud of their heritage and still keep it alive. i havent done research but im sure, and i know many would agree that if we had proven numbers, the majority of these mexican-americans wouldnt give a single **** about their roots. people that supposably are proud of their heritage as you state, are a large minority.
