Floyd got there because he was polarizing , he learned from Wrasslin to play a " Heel Character" , being talented and undefeated didn't hurt , but lots of people watched hoping to see him lose. The money spends the same if they love you or hate you.
Exciting fights , power, and heart are three ingredients. Charisma is another .It helps if a guy is a little vulnerable in the ring , one of the most exciting things about boxing is seeing someone overcome adversity, being tested and passing the test. It's a lot harder these days to become a star from boxing because people have to go looking for you. They practically have to already be a boxing fan to even know anything about you. In a lot of ways , boxing has done it to itself by being shortsighted and greedy. Hiding fights on subscription services and PPV. Even in the HBO and Showtime days , HBO and Showtime were popular, most people had at least one if not both. How many people have DAZN or Prime Video ?
Pretty much this. When fights were on USA/ESPN/HBO and Showtime, regular people had access to watch without buying in (I know HBO and Showtime were subs). Every single big fight now is a PPV that costs $40+. You are not going to get regular people buying that. So now you limited your audience to just boxing fans. That makes it way more difficult to fill the shows of Floyd, Roy or Pacman.

The closest thing is Canelo but he should have learned English a long time ago so he could speak to everyone.

Martin is top 5 TRBR LW. His being +450 is because Tank is respected.

When you’re the best of the generation like Floyd was, you are usually going to be a big favorite in each fight.

Both of them are good ticket sellers with a fanbase but don't look to be on their way to being huge stars in the way Floyd/Pac/DLH were. They just haven't had enough dangerous, high-interest fights, and it's getting a bit late now. Benavidez especially needs the Canelo fight.

Tank needs to fight bigger names if he's going to become a superstar, especially if he's only fighting once per year. Martin is a good fighter. But he's not high profile enough where he's going to add anything to Tank's star power.

            Martin isn’t B or C level comp.

Did I post or suggest he would be against Shakur? Tank will likely not be favored because Shakur is the top LW, Tank is #2 or #3 while Martin is #5.

The comment about Floyd was in response to the post I quoted. It wasn’t about Tank.

You are ranting and raving without reading. You look like a buffoon.

Not sure its possible to be above B level if you've fought nobody and no one has ever heard of you.

He has fought good enough opposition that TRBR has him at #5.

People like you that are slightly above casuals probably haven’t heard of him or his opposition.

As such you are not the best judges of a boxer or his resume.

We don't need another Mayweather cherrypicking type in boxing.

Just make the fights with the top guys being the attractor and boxing will be ok.

                      Absolutely.

Nobody would be giving American fighters any **** if they didn't pull all this Aside Bside fraud behaviour.

If you want to be a star you have to beat top fighter. Simple as
