  • Adrien Broner is a prime example of talent only gets you so far.

Was never as good as some people once fought but was unquestionably a talented kid. The DeMarco performance always sticks in my mind as probably his peak.

I just watched the Cobbs fight and damn, Broner is an absolute shell of himself man. He looks 34 going on 54. I never liked the guy but I do pity him, I always think it’s sad to see people essentially ruin their own future whether it be in boxing or just general life.

Broner’s careless attitude and complete lack of discipline essentially wasted any talent he once had. I suspect it’s wasted the majority of the money too. Should be a valuable lesson for any young fighter on the same path. You have to stay disciplined and put that work in!

He had some talent in his day, mostly just fast hands really and decent power at 130 where he was massive for the weight.

But he always had a very low skill set and IQ. I saw him arguably lose to Quintero and Ponce De Leon in his prime days.

I could never understand the hype behind him.

He wasn't that talented. Who did he beat? He was just OK.

This thread should have been about Rigo

Rigo was always very dedicated. How would this thread fit him?

I think people were just desperate for a Mayweather 2.0. I never saw the comparison, I did think Broner had a bright future though.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt until he barely beat a passed it Pauli.

Thats when I knew his ceiling was very low.

You can be hyper talented but if you have nothing else you will only go so far. Needed to throw more punches and give the fans something.

Stardom comes with talent dedication and give the fans something too.

Broner wasn't all that talented. Same as hankey, once he started fighting guys his size he'd lose

broner was always overrated. he was a weight bully at the lower weights and when he moved up then hes nothing special.

became a gatekeeper and kept getting fights

He's a lazy, unintelligent drunk and he still managed to become a 4 division world titlist. He's a sad clown now but I still think he over-achieved based on how little work he puts in.
