Whatever Eddie's motivation, at least he is saying the right thing and telling Wilder to hang 'em up.

All this chat of Wilder being “past it” is so tiresome. Wilder looked perfectly fine to everyone starching Helenius in 1 round after the back-to-back Fury losses, let’s not forget. Now all of a sudden he’s past it because he loses every round to Parker, despite Wilder having a history of being outboxed by the likes of Duhaupas and Washington before his power bailed him out?

In the Zhang fight, Wilder was his usual low-output self while throwing the occasional bombs in the 2nd and 5th round that would have landed and folded every nondescript fighter he faced up until Fury. Put him back with any one of them and he’ll be back to his “scintillating best”, I’m certain of it. The simple fact is Wilder has now been stepping up his competition and is getting found short - everything else is secondary.

I've said many times, Deontay was gonna get his cap peeled. It's obvious Malik Scott isn't teachimg him nothing. Wilder has regressed. His balamce is terrible. He's still taking the big leap where his feet leave the ground, telegraphing and leading off with the right hand. His entire brain is in his right hand. He doesn't know how to put his brain into his left hand, his hand position is all f...ked up, elbows always flared out to the sides like chicken wings, movement not fluid, legs like Bob Fitzsimmons, no inside game to speak of, no body punching, no combinations, only head hunting looking for single right hand shots, feints are barely there, defense is quite poor. But beyond that, reflexes and timing is way off. The reason Wilder has regressed is probably because Malik Scott is his best friend who also happened to get knocked out cold by Wilder when they once fought. Realistically, how the hell is he going to teach Wilder anything? All Malik taught Wilder is how to be timid and jittery. Also constantly praising him, telling him he looks beautiful, he's looking great, when he looks terrible. Doing all this weird sh..t in training that won't help him in the ring. Deontay Marcellus Skull Dent Wilder. Should've stayed ur dumb ass with Mark Breland

The ''past it' comment is indeed too black and white, but I think we are looking at a decline from his peak where he can no longer perform at the level he used to operate at (irrespective of opinion on what that level was, and level of opposition, it got him a lot of wins and he tested Fury to his limit).

We've seen it before with other boxers where late on thete is increased hesitancy to pull the trigger '(i vaguely remember Wlad had this criticjsm'), and given Wilders success was entirely dependant on that trigger, without it he isn't the same force he was. Add in potential lowrer pinch resistance, and Wilder would need to be able to fall back on boxing skills that were never realy there to continue at the top level.

He’s made a lot of money but he also lives a lifestyle that costs a lot to keep going. I think he needs to actually fight for the pay, he’s blown a lot of money since he met his most recent baby mama/wife. Dude literally is burning through money.

Wilder is still good. People just judging him on a couple of bad performances. He needs to get a proper trainer first tho
