Wilder came off the back foot and turned the hip over on that Helenius KO. It's not where he starts. He starts on the back foot for many of his KO's. It's where he ends up. With the flush shots tonight, he never LEFT the back foot. Zero weight transfer. It's just an arm punch. You can't develop power like that. Watch the replay, and you can see him start on the back foot, then push off the back foot, turn the hip, and end fully on the front as he lands on Helenius.

Tonight he was just punching with the arm while keeping his weight back the whole time. Looks pretty, like Haney, and with his rep, it seems like it should be more impressive, but you see it doesn't even move Zhang's head.

actually Wilder landed 2 flush right hands within 1 minute before he got KOed.
They weren’t pitty-pat right hands or glancing blows either. Zhang didn’t even ride them that well like Parker did in his fight with Dr. Sleep.

I read several articles after the fight that said “Wilder never found the right hand” and “the Bronze Bomber never pulled the trigger”. BS. Zhang just has a great chin and countered well.

Not sure you or anyone else can teach an old dog new tricks
Time will tell but imo , he would not be wrong retiring

He’s very thin; he could possibly make Cruiserweight. I don’t think he beats Opetaia, but he’d probably beat everyone else by KO.

I wouldn’t call him a bum, just a modern Earnie Shavers in a heavyweight era with very little depth.
