Ah ok. What kind of style does Scull have? How did he look in that fight v Shvedenko? I presume you've watched him.

Also, no actual boxing fan gives a damn about IBF/WBC/WBO/whatever rankings, everyone knows they're bs, which is why actual fans talk p4p.

Only the casual fan would look at an IBF/whatever ranking and accept that their number 1 is meaningful in any way at all.

Everyone should look at the rankings. The rankings are not going to get anyone excited. The rankings will educate everyone on fighters the organizations list from the bottom to the top.

Yeah but you know they're effectively meaningless, right? Being ranked say, 3rd at middleweight by the IBF means absolutely diddly squat in the grand scheme of boxing.

his defense was mostly going backwards with an occasional parry and side head movement. the fight wasn't really exciting because both of them couldn't hurt each other despite scull landing several good body shots. as i said both of them are nothing special and benavidez and morrell are way better. the problem is canelo wasn't going to find davids so he might as well fight his 3rd mandatory which is scull.

it would be berlanga next for canelo and i hate it. wba didn't call their mandatory (morrell) for 3 years despite him deserving it and paying them sanctioning fees to stay in that position. after morrell there was mbilli next in line at #1. they wouldn't call that either. now since probably canelo instructed them he wants berlanga, wba sanctioned an eliminator out of nowhere between #8 berlanga and #3 padraig mccrory. low and behold, berlanga is now wba's mandatory and morrell and mbilli are demoted for no reason. it's BAD and i HATE it.

Well, it sounds like you've watched more of Scull than Canelo probably has.

I'm not a casual nor a boxing nerd, but.. I have literally never heard the name 'William Scull' until the past few days.

well look at his record, hes fought nothing but bums. its absurd for him to be a mandatory. the ratings are trash. the ABCs need to be wiped and we need a redo of the boxing champion belt system.

his eliminator fight. he's not great, boogeyman, whatever. he just deserved his high ranking by ACCEPTING to fight. wba and wbc mandatories are in front of ibf but since those two did nothing for two damn years ibf decided that enough is enough and called their own mandatory. OF COURSE benavidez and morrell are better fighters and they deserve their shots more but they were off the table regardless of scull and ibf. after that was clear, i wanted scull more than berlanga and other guys who never fought eliminators. everybody ranked bellow benavidez and morrell is nothing special. i would rather see scull get his shot for accepting to fight and paying sanctioning fees and waiting for 2 years than somebody who never fought an eliminator and didn't have to wait.

if you don't put time and effort, don't do any research at all, you are not a fan of something at all, not even casual fan. nobody HAS to do all that but if you don't care enough then you are definitely not a fan.

if someone thinks that he is a boxing fan because he watches a fight here and there and nothing else, then all of us are fans of trees and roads and cars because we casually see them every day (more than regular citizens watch boxing). it's like telling every one of us is a fan of politics because we watch the news and casually hear about politics. i am just calling a spade a spade.

Now lets look at what the IBF is actually claiming, the IBF is claiming that not only should this guy be fighting canelo, but that he is the MOST DESERVING fighter on the planet to face Canelo, to the extent that if Canelo refuses to fight him then Canelo must conceded his championship. Over a guy who has been fighting guys with 50% win ratios in the last year. Scull is sparring partner material, a guy Canelo would rotate out with other bums to beat on for practice.

Sculls family probably sits on the board at IBF, i cant think of any other reason he is their number 1 pick.

IBF says he made their number 1 by defeating Evgeny Shvedenko in 2022, who the *** is Evgeny Shvedenko? hes another bum never beat anyone, then you ask ok maybe he was a great amateur or something, no you look at his amateur record and its 11-8, he barely is above 50% wins as an amateur, hes a long time bum.

Then after this amazing win over russian uber driver Evgeny Shvedenko, to protect his record Scull fights two guys with 43 combined losses to maintain his number 1 IBF status, his manager knows what he was doing, they had no confidence that Scull could continue to beat his normal level of bums so they manged to find guys even worse with near 50% win ratios.

I think Canelo is going to get caught sleeping here. He won't know what to train for, because no video tape of William Scull exists. Scull will do a Pac Man. Scull Man.

Maybe he should hire Iceman John Scully for training.
