That's the effect of the undisputed heavyweight championship between two real solid ATG men that have gotten to where they are the hard way without any fraudulent helping hands along the way. Usyk and Fury are legends of the sport and no one really knew who was going to win this one.

If they were smart about it they would create a bi-yearly mega-card on free-to-air TV where all the undisputed championships were on the line on the same night.

Boxing is extremely popular internationally and has been, in modern times, since Tito Alberto di Carni landed in England to fight Bob Whittaker in 1733.

I don't subscribe to it being "A sinking ship" because of streaming piracy however; nor do I endorse any connection between boxing's exclusive sea worthyness and the issue of PPV theft.
That, is simply a repair project using technology.

The front page news, obviously, is that the numbers associated with people interested in Boxing simply dwarf those showing interest in MMA, BKFC, WWE, Glory Kickboxing, Jell-O wrestling and all of the other lesser combat sports, by a staggaring margin.

As long as there are straight men interesting in witnessing fighting skills, boxing is going to continue to thrive.

But boxing is booming in popularity all over the globe, as those numbers prove. 564m global views and 4.6 billion impressions is an awful lot of eyeballs, and for sponsors and advertisers, eyeballs = money. And money talks loud, even to people who may be a little squeamish about men beating the shit out of each other.

I read that UFC 300 had 1.3 billion total impressions. Since here they mention 5.6b impressions for boxing, with 20 million illegal streams, it seems likely that the 564m were live streamers.

It's a strange headline and angle for something that is hugely positive. I doubt the 20 million illegal streamers were even going to buy it in the first place.
