TBF, Ike didn't exactly "walk" through Byrd. Chris was frustrating him for the most part, but that wicked bolo punch turned things around.

I couldn't believe how his head didn't separate from his body, him not being a true HW and all.
My apologies on the inaccurate description. It's been so many years, all I really remember from that fight was the foot long string of snot that shot (who knows, maybe it was brain matter) from Byrd's nose after that one punch.

HBO had a close replay and it was gnarly.

Name me a huge fight involving Zhang? 0. Im talking super fight. AJ Wilder would still be that if they win their fights this year. AJ Wilder would be 30x as big as Zhang AJ

Wilder said "”One of the things that went wrong was the inactivity. I was out for two years. I didn’t even notice I was out that long because of certain things that I was doing. I just couldn’t pull the trigger when it was time too. So a different time, a different moment.”"
Everyone was telling him this! I said the same about Fury - guy hasn't fought any good boxers for years before Usyk. The boxers who duck fights always get their come-uppance in the end

I do think he is discounting what Parker did. Parker made it hard to hit him. Parker is a perfect example of a guy who keeps taking hard fights against top level fighters - and benefiting from it. Parker has losses and had to change and that gave him something extra too

You are NOT a casual Oldskoolg. I apologize for that. I did not even pay attention to your name when I said that. I’ve read many of your posts and have had many chats here with you.

I can’t speak to his lack of discipline because I didn’t know but I’ve always wondered how he never became bigger than what he was. He had serious power.
He was the best heavyweight of his era to never win a version of the title. Personally I thought he beat Ineabuchi on points. He was best in the 220-230 range. He ate his way out of his best years. Even with that, he knocked out a few champions in his run. Maskaev, Moorer, Rahman, Ruiz, but never ma aged to win a title himself. Am in shape Tua was a wrecking ball. His career was hurt by his tendency to come into fights rotund just as Bowe did to his career, another case of wasted talent. However, Wilder should have been the best of this era and he wasn’t, he wasn’t because he fights too lazy and isn’t disciplined enough to use the basics

I don't think that Wilder has it anymore. I'd be happy to be wrong though. They both looked like crap their last time out. One things fairly certain, someone is going to sleep.

Ibeabuchi broke my heart , arguably the greatest "could have been " story in boxing.

I don't think that he was scared , just old and rusty. When you get old , by the time you see the shot and tell your muscles,to,fire , the moment has passed so you don't let it go. You just can't respond fast enough to the openings. Who knows , maybe he was scared. We will have some clarity after this weekend about what he's got left. I don't think it's much to be honest.
