Good for Errol, suppose he needs to fight to payback what he owes Derrick James.

What a load of crap in this division.

Spence is sitting on his ass, doing nothing, coming from a KO loss, and he will get a world title shot in division he never fought before.

I would love to see Bud vs such a tall opponent just to see how he would approach it, but he'll have a showcase fight vs Madrimov who is strong, but far too slow.

I like the matchup for Fundora with Spence because it's more winnable for Sebastian than Crawford.

Tszyu is the guy who should be getting a rematch, in my opinion, but again - I like the matchup with he and Ortiz more. I think it's a much better fight.

        That's just me.

I think this is Al pulling the strings more than Fundora is ducking. Also, the paycheck is larger for him at Texas stadium than anywhere he may have fought Bud and it gets Errol back in the mix.

          Fundora had two options:
fight Crawford for 3 belts (WBC/WBA/WBO)
          or
fight Spence for 1 belt (WBC)

He chose the latter. That's a duck. No two ways about it.

3 belts? Is the WBA title vacant?

Crawford is fighting Madrimov for the WBA and WBO titles in August. Try to keep up.

I remember some sports writer saying something very true & quite profound. He said in 1954 you could've stopped an 8yo boy anywhere is the USA &, almost certainly, he woulda been able to name the world champions from fly to heavy. Now, I don't think even the editor of Boxingscene could name every holder of every title from straw weight, through (ahem) Bridgerweight up to Heavyweight. If you want to know why boxing is now a niche sport & why today's boxers don't get the same acclaim, adulation & recognition that Robinson, Moore, Pepp, Saddler & Marciano got. That's why.

Yes because Madrimov is the WBA champ, correct?

So how would Fundora and Crawford fight for 3 belts when Bud has none?

                  Keep up, you say?

Fundora was ordered to face the winner of Crawford vs Madrimov, who would've had the WBA belt and WBO interim belt. Instead he chose to vacate the WBO and fight Spence for his WBC belt. That's literally what this entire thread is about. So if Fundora had accepted the Madrimov v Crawford winner for his next fight, it would be for the WBA/WBC/WBO titles.

                    So, again

His choices were to fight the Crawford v Madrimov winner for 3 belts or fight Spence for 1 belt and he chose the latter.

How is that fair to Fundora to sit on the shelf and wait until Spring 2025? He needs to stay active too.
