There's no reason he has to fight Spence and if he'd simply agreed to the Crawford fight before the injury suspension, the Crawford v Madrimov fight wouldn't have been made and we'd go straight to Crawford v Fundora.
Fundora had the chance to fight Crawford directly for two belts and refused, then he had the chance to fight the Crawford v Madrimov winner for three belts, and he decided to duck and instead fight the guy that Crawford knocked out at welterweight in his last fight for one belt.
And even if Fundora does need to "stay busy", he shouldn't be fighting Spence. Serhii Bohachuk is the WBC interim champion and he was originally supposed to fight Fundora for the WBC title, but ended up fighting Mendoza (who knocked Fundora out) on the Tszyu v Fundora undercard.
So, again, Fundora is engaged in shameful ducking. Stop making excuses for him.
"Fair to Fundora" my ass. He didn't deserve his title shot to begin with, he got knocked out in his previous fight. He got special treatment. And then he agreed to fight Spence knowing full well he had already been ordered to deal with the WBO mandatory. He's ducking both Crawford and Bohachuk.
