Too many heavyweights are sucking wind after four rounds.
It's one of the reasons Usyk does so well.

Modern heavyweights stamina is garbage, in the 90s we had fatty David Tua throwing 600 punches in a fight and not getting too tired.

I thought Fury let it slip and let Usyk off the hook when he had him hurt... Was def slow to start in the first few rounds but once he had his flow and timing he looked a level above, then let Usyk back into the fight by neglecting the body and letting him rest. Great great performance by Usyk, def deserved. Hopefully Tyson can come back motivated in the rematch and let the hands go from the first bell. His chin looks a little shot though.

Fights ebb and flow and it's a hallmark of Usyk's fights. Guys get the upper hand, but Usyk figures things out and finds a way. It's what he's always done.

Bellew, Chisora, Briedis, Joshua, Fury - they all had their moments. Usyk ultimately adjusted and won.

I completely agree Fury looked great through 6. But he's not the first. Lesser fighters than him have looked good against Usyk right up until they didn't anymore. Even when Fury looked great it was still Usyk applying pressure - eventually it tells.
This is true. Usyk’s consistency, insane motor and determination plus his overall skillset combined are too difficult to overcome in a 12 round fight as you will usually tire out first before he ever does.

With that said though, i haven’t seen any of the guys you’ve mention win 3-4 consecutive rounds against Usyk — esp not in the fashion Fury did. Those rounds were the best anyone could possibly look against Usyk if that’s any consolation to Fury lol.

Rewatching now (again and again) and I think Fury's early performance is probably being overstated. He was good, but only in one round did he really overwhelm Usyk.

Usyk gets better with every watch. Their relative sizes and the reaction of the crowd played into Fury's shots seeming significant and Usyk's not so much. I think it was the opposite of that apart from the sixth round. Usyk's shots were hurtful - Fury was hitting gloves and air a lot.

This fight gets wider to Usyk every time I watch.

Fury won 4-7 convincingly but hindsight reveals all.

Usyk made him work his bollocks off and started measuring him. Tyson Fury would have to dance around the ring whilst Usyk just look a few steps to pressure him.

In the end, it wasn't sustainable and Fury got rocked hard.

I agree. In real time I thought Usyk was in very serious trouble. On re-watch not so much. Fury caught Usyk with some sneaky shots and buzzed him once for sure, but he was never in complete control.

It was incredible how he boxed him in the middle rounds. The way he man handled that midget in there. Fascinating stuff...

Similar for me. In lot of those rounds where Fury did something, Usyk still had cleaner more effective work.

He did. Fury is a great fighter.

But Usyk made the adjustments, and Fury didn’t adjust to that. Thats what won Usyk the fight.

Usyk is a master at boxing, he has the ability to make fighters tired just be sheer foot positioning and mental pressure. His IQ is extremely high, every single fight he always adjusts and finishes strong.

When Fury made the adjustments and began to dominate, I thought that was it but Usyk showed how great he is.

They are two great fighters. I’m very excited for the rematch but it’s hard to see a way Usyk loses but I’m not counting Fury all the way out.

but usyk is level above. People should realise how much physical adventage fury has. It is like Crawford going against Bivol. Even if Bivol was on Bud’s level
skillwise I would expect Bivol to beat him relatevly easy. the fact usyk won and hurt fury, just shows how remarkable good usyk is, not that fury is not exceptional.

kudos to both fighters. Fury still beats AJ and everybody else, pretty easy.
It was an ATG performance. Furys physical advantage is unparalleled, combined with his legitimate top skills, he is absolutely a top talent.

Usyk however cemented an ATG career.

Rematch I lean Fury using all of his size even if I think Usyk is better.
