I think if like me, the ref was just mesmerised by Fury ping ponging around the ring, which to be fair was quite an impressive sight, mainly comically and also to give him some credit that he was able to even do that.

In the same breath he really could have ended it because Fury got seriously hurt and he needs to look at a boxer's wellbeing. Did anyone else see his eyes roll back after the first big hit? That was sickening to watch.
What sport do you think you're watching?

If THAT freaked you out I would highly suggest you to avoid an actual graphic fight.

I don’t think he should have stopped. Fury deserved the benefit of doubt showing his heart in Wilder fights.

However, the referee was there next to Usyk and I feel was significantly in Usyk’s way contemplating if he should stopped the fight or not. Not a great refereeing at all - at one point Usyk almost had to push the referee to get to Tyson. The count was slow - but that’s something boxing needs to sort out in general (what if one referee counts 10 in 10 secs, and other in 25 secs)… Tyson got something like 15+ seconds to recover.

In general, it was so incredible to see such a smaller fighter beating Fury from pillar to post, literally - did usyk miss one punch..? Very impressive.

There's a few things that could have happened if the ref counted one of the earlier knockdowns and not wait till the last one to count as a knockdown.

                  1. Fury could have recovered sooner.

                  2. Maybe Usyk could have scored another knockdown.

                  3. Usyk could have jumped on him and finished him at the end of the round (the knockdown the ref did count was at the final 10 seconds of the round. If that didn't happen, Fury could have taken more punishment that would have finished him).

                  5. Juggernaut 666 claiming he can finish Fury sooner than Usyk did.
Number 5 is the best thing I have read today what a lunatic. Reminds me of the time he killed a man with a pizza box hahahaha

I've been watching a lot of amateur fights lately & had forgotten how fast their counts are. Thing is am boxing is built around safety so they want to error on the side of caution.

This is pro boxing. Pro boxing is built around entertaining the audience. So pro counts are built more to giving guys, esp at the tip top level this fight was, more time to recover to continue the fight. And lets be honest fans flip the fook out more on a early stoppage than a late or no stoppage so I get refs erroring towards that direction.

That said in this specific case I wouldn't have had a problem with a Usyk KO9 outcome & I think more often than not it is stopped in the 9th. I think this being some crazy big event in Riyadh with the new pimp of boxing paying all this big money & flying all these big names & boxing legends out led to this less likely outcome.
