I think if fury weren't so proud, and just took a knee and 18 seconds to recover he'd be ok

Was he being proud or just out of it & comically too off balanced + out of control of his own body to take a knee?

It looked more the latter to me. In some instances I see guys being too proud &/or bold for their own good when hurt. This didn't seem like one of those times.

The take a knee when badly hurt move is a massively underutilized strategic move in boxing. Its better to take a knee of your own accord when badly hurt than to be forced down likely more hurt by your opp.

Yes, fury looked gone, it was disturbing to see. Fury usually goes down when hit good, not stand up like Frank bruno looking like zombie

            it was a knockdown.
if the ropes stop you from hitting the canvas that’s an official knockdown , we have seen that many times in some of the greatest fights in history.
leonard vs hearns in 1981 when Hearns went through the ropes.
fury should have been stopped he was gone and the ref when he asked him to step forward stood there and didn’t look right.
it is the worst i have ever seen fury look…..I was actually concerned for him with how he reacted and looked like when he was getting that count

I do t think he even knew he had a knee, he looked extremely lost and that can cause serious injuries

should not have been a stoppage. standing 8 was the right call when he was out on his feet and held up by the ropes from a fall.

only valid complaint of OP is he is right it was a long as *** 8 count, def more than 8 seconds.

Counts are always long in the pros & probably almost never literally 10secs. Its the standard. Go time counts from KOs over the last few weeks & you'll see.

Ppl have even more recovery time today with all these lil tests they give ppl after counting sometimes too.

                    - - Falls against the ropes or the ring post are routinely counted as KDs because they are literally the only thing saving the fighter from being knocked into the 5th row.

Shyte and otherwise corrupt refs are a dime a dozen in boxing esp when an international Mob is promoting the fight..Boxing 101...
