Oh come on. Fury was not sharp and mobile in that fight. He’s visibly slower than in the first Wilder fight. Wilder is an almost immobile target with little to no defensive skill. Wilder is also a low volume one hit wonder. It’s easy to overpower him.

Fury was struggling with the tempo as it was. If he puts on weight he will not only be slower but burn more energy moving and against Usyk that’s not good. Usyk can fight forward, backward and sideways. What works against Twerkin’ Deontay will not work against Usyk.

Fury lost because Usyk is better. He took his time, figured him out and landed both hands. A TKO stoppage would have been justified.

Fury was 262 last night. If he came in at 273 like he did against Wilder, that 11 lbs of muscle wouldn't slow him down so much as put more thudding shots on Usyk, who struggled with Dubois's power in spots.

Usyk already had to move around a lot in the early rounds and nearly burned himself out. That's why the mid rounds, he was forced to take off to keep up that pace for the late round rallies he did that helped him win the fight.

Fury was clearly able to hurt him last night. Comfortably even. A little heavier means Fury punches harder and Usyk's shots have less impact. Usyk would have to move around even more to avoid them, causing him to eventually burn himself out and/or allow himself to get hit. (ala Plant vs Benavidez).

The rematch definitely favors Fury.

He can come in way heavier like Wilder 2 whereas Usyk is stuck fighting the same way.

Because he wasn't gassed out before getting his nose shattered and chin checked, another 20lbs of fat will be great.

Getting clipped changed the course of the night, not his conditioning.
