I honestly think he has to be. What a fighter.
Yes as a fury fan i’d put him there. This win alone is impressive more than anyone has done in the rankings.

I've never really rated Fury... I didn't get an opportunity to watch this one, so I'm going to reserve judgment until after I get a chance to. But it sounds like he will rise in my estimation by giving Usyk a good fight.

That being said, I have a hard time moving Inoue out of #1. Usyk winning here makes it a 3 man conversation instead of 2, and Bud will have his say again if he beats Madrimov, although I wish it had been Charlo with 3 belts. I certainly think it's beyond dispute that those 3 are firmly in the lead, however. I'd put the eventual winner of Beterbiev v Bivol up there with Canelo after, although I would like Canelo to stop resting on his past laurels and beat Benavidez and Morrell. And I'll be watching 115 and 118 with great interest as well. Maybe 135, depending on how things shake out over the next couple years.

We've been blessed with some generationally good performances in recent years, some clear first ballot HOF, and a few who have a chance to enter the ATG conversation. Not too shabby.

In all honesty, I'm glad that Usyk won because now I don't need to have endless b!tch fights with people who desperately refuse to acknowledge the existance of anything below 135 everytime Inoue fights (or the once a year Bud fights)

In a fair world Usyk will/should now stay permanent No. 1 P4P until he retires or loses, no questions asked.

On top of everything he has already achieved, Usyk prevailed as an underdog, giving up 6" in height, 40lbs and a 7" reach advantage to become undisputed heavyweight champ of the world.

He deserves to be recognized as P4P #1.

I'd say Usyk, Crawford and then Inoue. The size difference alone between Usyk and Fury proved his style can disrupt other fighters regardless of weight difference. I think that is what P4P should really be. If your style can defeat others, regardless of weight.

Yes and I think he has or should have been for a while now.
But for some reason people/fans prefer claiming these pint sized fighters are p4p

That wouldn't be a fair ask.
It would need to be more comparative to their size plus at HW there isn't such a bone structure discrepancy among other factors.

40lbs to a HW is a whole lot less than what 40lbs is to a guy who is 120lb wringing wet.
