I think so. Now a 2 weight undisputed Champ.
Is Usyk P4P #1 now?

Another factor is where Usyk beat these guys. Inoue and Crawford largely fought in the home corner.
Usyk beat Breidis in Latvia, Glowacki in Poland, Gassiev in Russia, Huck in Germany, Hunter in the USA, Joshua, Bellew and Chisora in the UK.
Even his two wins in Saudi, he was essentially the away fighter, it was his opponents promoter who was lead promoter.
Inoue: 14-0 vs TBRB top 10, 14-0 vs world titlists (no regular or interim)
Crawford: 13-0 vs TBRB top 10, 10-0 vs world titlists
Usyk: 7-0 vs TBRB top 10, 8-0 vs world titlists
Usyk's road record is indeed impressive and he made he most impressive jump from cruiser to heavy, but I'd still say both Crawford and Inoue have deeper resumes overall.
But then, both of those guys have more fights across more divisions so it's easier to find quality opposition.
I plan to do a deep dive 3 way resume comparison later, with each fighter's ranked and world title opponents listed and the results.Last edited by famicommander; 05-18-2024, 08:11 PM.Comment

You have to consider how dominant these champions are.
Inoue and Crawford have dominated their opponents.
Inoue has been the most active.
Inoue & Crawford 3x unified.
Usyk won split dec to Fury. It was a close fight.
*I would have rated Usyk higher if Fury hadn't been nearly beat by a first time MMA fighter.
P4P
1. Inoue
2. Crawford
3. Usyk

I would go with what Usyk's promoter said...P4P is just a made-up thing that will be different in different people's minds. It is not a quantifiable title. He was an amateur champ, Olympic champ, undisputed cruiserweight champ, and is now undisputed heavyweight champ and (someone should have asked this to Fury) Linear champ.
No need for some made-up imaginary stuff.Comment

But at HW, the weight difference can be infinite. That's what makes Usyk becoming Undisputed so impressive. HWs don't have to risk the consequences of draining themselves to then potentially gain an advantage through rehydration.Last edited by kiaba360; 05-18-2024, 08:13 PM.Comment

It’s definitely a relevant part of the discussion but I think you also have to analyse each win/performance.
Say if you’re comparing Usyk and Crawford, Fury and Indongo were both ranked the #2 guy behind them, but they’re nowhere near the same league.Comment
